INZANE XV is in S.D. from June 7th. thru 12th. Sure would like to make this one. I'm guessing 3 days of 700 miles each on the slab would be about right to get there. Not really fond of the slab but it's a quick mile maker.
I know it's very early to make plans for next summer but was wondering if anyone from Fl. is thinking of making the trip?

cooldude Yes, however, 4 days up, not all slab. I've ridden up to Sturgis several times on a 4 day up schedule; it's not bad but 3 days with any weather issues is a push. After Inzane plan to run north east through Mn and into Canada above the great lakes over to Maine and work my way south.
I'm always in for the touring, and do enjoy the event!

Jeff

I would like to make Inzane as well but will know more as it gets closer to the date.

I really would like to see a Florida get away to the NC/TN mountains, I guess we will know as the time gets closer.

Hey, we might even be able to do a "Florida Fall Ride to the Mountains", just a few months away  Evil Grin

Sorry for high jacking this thread.

We now go back to our regular scheduled program  2funny

Jack I admit I was hoping we would have a repeat of location but SD won out and that's fine too. A Fl. group ride to GA/NC/TN mountains would be an intriguing idea also. Less vacation time needed and the area is awesome.

It is around April 1 as close as possible.

That is where the Fools come in. April Fools Day.

I don't think I am going, just too darn far. But a definite on the gathering of the fools. Then  probably N Georgia or NC, get some hill riding in cooler temps.

It's also a bit far for me under present circumstances. It was difficult enough getting my wife taken care of for one week this year, next year would involve a caretaker for at least two weeks or longer since it's 2k miles one way. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to make the trip on the bike, I have plenty of family I can stay with on the way going & coming so costs would be reasonable. As for other options, one day I'd like to make it to GOTF. But again, same problem.

Okay so we know that John and the Grumpster aren't going to be able to make the trip.
If Lesa and I go it will be by trailer, that part is for sure. I won't push her to that many 500-600 mile days.
A repeat to the Carolinas is also intriguing for me as well. Really enjoyed our group and the riding up there.

I've never ridden to Texas for a BBQ, and the more I think about it the better it sounds. Alvin's just inside Texas south of Houston. It would just qualify as an Iron Butt ride if I went straight through. Not too sure I'd do that though.

Maybe next year will turn into a two long summer rides event. That would be fun, just have to clear it with the Boss ( aka Wife ) Grin

Would the GOTF qualify as one of our weekend ride and eat get togethers? Cheesy
