I took off yesterday morning to hook-up with some friends that live in Muscle Shoals, Alabama that came up to ride the awesome trails of The Coal Creek OHV Area. We did close to 100 miles in the Coal Creek / Windrock mountains.Weather was beautiful and it was'nt that hot as long as we stayed deep in the woods or in the creek bottom.

Most of the trails are marked pretty good and if you buy a map it will point you to the best trails with points of interest like over-looks.

Cool old dam out in the middle of nowhere. This whole area is owned by a coal company and has abandoned mines everywhere. I could'nt find any info on about what year this was built.

It was a cool place to take a break and the leaks let us play in the cold water.Everything was going good here until we saw a 4 foot rattle snake then it was time to roll. I had already put my camera on the bike when Mike's ol'lady saw the rattler.

One of the many abandoned coal mines that cover this mountain range. Not long after pulling out from this location Billy rolled his four wheeler and I turned mine over on its side  Sad  We called that trail...The trail from hell it was extreme with straight up and down gorges .He hurt his right arm and leg but not bad I did'nt get hurt and saw no damage to my bike whatsoever.

Abandoned coal mine I'm not sure if the coal company floods these to keep folks out or it just happens but about 80% of the ones we saw yesterday was flooded  Undecided  We was runnin' low on  gas  and  a group of side by sides hooked us up to make sure we got out of the mountains and they would'nt take a dime we tried to pay them . Just like motorcycles you meet some fine people that ride .

This is the group that gave us some gas . I did'nt count them but I'm guessin' they had about 10 to 12 in the group. We had a cluster " f " going here with ( 2 ) of the side by sides turned over.We got back to the trailer right at dark with over 13 hours in the mountains and I was wore slap out.

She was a yankee girl and her voice rang through the mountains to the point of ear and brain piercing that was as close as I wanted to get.To be honest she was pretty sharp and was ridin' a bad a$$ Polaris RANGER RZR but her voice was sooooo loud  Sad  For the record I have nothing against yankee girl's at one point in my life I was married to one years ago but this ol'girls loud mouth had the squirrel's runnin' for cover.
