As a rule, hard parts don't need to be replaced. Float needles are hard parts, order a gasket kit from Redeye (around $75) and you should be good to go. Soak small parts in a sealed glass jar overnight if they look real nasty.
I agree with that. Just make sure the rubber tips are in good order. IMO...aftermarket parts for critical components like float needles is a no no. Here is a pic of a K&L float needle off a Gold Wing. See what I mean?
