It has been a while since I posted. I need a battery for the Phat Lady and would like to know what part numbers will work at different suppliers. I know that there used to be ( and probably still is) a generic list of parts for the Valk, but I don't remember how to locate it.
    Thanks for the help.

Here are a few sites that you may want to bookmark.  The battery suppliers should be able to give you a crossover by year and model info.

This link (above) will take you to the OEM parts microfiche.

Here ya are!

YTX-14-BS

Yuasa is the gold standard but if you plug this number in anywhere the correct battery will pop up. Google, E-Bay, whatever, wherever!

I was surprised to find that O'Reilly's had an AGM battery for the Valkyrie, in stock, and ready to go.  Roughly 75 bucks.
Batteries Plus has the same thing.
These are good options if you don't want to wait for the mail.  I made the choice of going with the better class of battery (AGM) than worrying about the brand.  Haven't had any trouble with them, though.

I think just about all motorcycle batteries are AGM now.

It's the age of the battery after the addition of acid, what is important whether on a minder or not.

It always pays to shop around. Try this link: http://www.batteryplex.com/motorcycles.cfm/mod/YTX14-BS=Yuasa-Mfg--Motocross-Brand
Or this one: http://www.batterystuff.com/batteries/motorcycle/YTX14H-BS.html
The battery number is slightly different, better check the size though they say it replaced the YTX14-bs

I got my last battery at Interstate Battery...   Seems like it was $59.95 out the door.     Can't find my receipt to verify it..

The big car battery in the Trike came from there also.

The YTX14H-BS is a higher output battery, rated at 260CCA instead of 200. If you run a lot of accessories it may be worth the extra bucks.

I got my new battery on Ebay.  The discription says gel is AGM but I don't think they are the same.  The new battery was almost indistinguishable from the stock battery.
