Has anyone de-baffled their Valk? I'm thinking about it but am worried I will need to adjust the carbs?
Thoughts?
Thanks, Dan

On my past Interstate, I drilled all the baffles through. Did not need to re-jet. Bile always ran great.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

If you're going to drill them, start with a small bit and see how it sounds. Then go progressively larger until you reach the size where you like the sound. I ended up with a 1/2" hole in my OEM pipes, don't have those anymore however.

I didn't, just cut the piggies off about halfway and drilled the rear most baffles. As stated, I ended up drilling them out with a 1/2" long bit. If you also cut the piggies, don't but them all the way back to the muffler. Leave a couple inches so they can be restored later if so desired. Drilling with a 1/2" bit and cut the piggies about half off gave it a nice growl without being obnoxiously loud.

You won't need to re-jet unless you drill the front set of baffles too. Before you do, you might want to search the forum for drone. Here's a couple links regarding drilling and/or gutting the baffles. http://luiscajiga.com/Exhaustm.htmhttp://luiscajiga.com/Exhaustm2.htmAlot of folks have modified their stock exhaust only to regret it later on. Remember, your exhaust is only stock ONCE. If I were you, I'd look at a set of Cobra's or other exhaust options rather than drilling out or gutting your stock exhaust.

Ditto on what Bruce just said. The PO of my bike cut the piggies and drilled the baffles. I would love to have it back to stock.

I Cut The Tail End Of The Mufflers Off On My Pipes, Melted, ( Because It Is Stainless) ,All Of The Baffles And the "Y" With A Torch. I Welded The End Cap Back On And Cut the Piggies Off Just After The Bolt Hole (Nut) ,That Holds The Rear Exhaust Tip So That I could Put All Three Bolts Back In. Remember To Mark The Exhaust Can So That You Get The Pipe Lined Up So The Tips Fit On In The Right Position. I Did Not Re-Jet The Bike And It Felt Like It Gained A Little HP And It Sounded Great. I Rode That Valkyrie For Ten Years With -Out Any Problems, As A Matter Of Fact I Still Have The Exhaust Because I Swapped Them Out Before Trading The Bike . They Are Hanging In My Garage As I Type And May Use Them Again.
