Well I took my time and did it all at once. I needed a new DS tire and it turned into a rip down. I had bearings pressed out of both wheels and sent the wheels and fork tubes, along with the rotors to the powder coater.

While I was waiting I installed new brakes front & rear, added a K&N Filter, changed out the anti-freeze and put a new starter switch assembly in, my old one was starting when it wanted to. I also bought new 12 inch progressive shocks for the rear, and new progressive springs for the forks.

Got all my stuff back from powder coat and bought a new Nexen DS and a new Metzler front tire, also new 90 degree valve stems. Had all new bearings pressed in both wheels. I removed the final drive assembly and greased everything up and put in the 3 new O rings.

I also picked up a new to me (4) piece Ultimate King Big Boy seat from one of our members, Thanks Eddie for the Great deal on the seats & Metzler tire , So the Fat Girl got a makeover and the bike is very smooth and the suspension made a world of difference.

I am hoping to go to Sturgis next year and wanted to know that everything was good to go. So now I ride with piece of mind and I only love this ride more with every mile. I may have forgotten a few other things I did, but she is all buttoned up and torqued down and good to go !!

Here are a few pictures of all the fun

The powder coating looks great. Between the Ultimate seat and Progressive suspension, I'm sure it feels like a new bike. That was one of the first improvements I did and remember it feeling nice.
Congratulations cooldude

I only got it out  for a short ride, but the suspension is like night and day. Looking forward to the next long ride.

I am just waiting for my led bulbs for the gauges to be delivered. From what I see on their web site, these bulbs make a huge difference, I ordered the Cool White from  Super Bright LED's.

You will notice even more difference/improvement with the faring you have. You will love it at night, dusk, dawn riding. That's a great inexpensive improvement.

Correct....ordered the same bulbs after I saw what they did for Tundra. Great and simple improvement.

One thing I should have done was change over to a pingle and or did the Dan-Marc fuel valve while I had the bike tore down. Oh well I guess I will save that for when I finally get in there and De-Smog.

Just got my bulbs today and installed them, Big Difference !! Hard to tell from these pictures in my garage. But it is pretty dramatic. At first I thought they sent me the wrong bulbs. The shape makes it hard to install unless u turn them until they slide in. Actually looks like putting a square peg in a round hole..lol

I'm thinking a super bright bulb in my (IS fairing) signal indicator might help with leaving the dang thing on for half an hour.

I'm thinking about an air raid siren...why is it so hard to see??? Drives me nuts and may get me killed one day.

With me the problem is not quick turns, it is traffic and longer turns.  You can wait a long time to turn where I live, and by the time you do, your mind has wondered off to new tasks.

In the meantime, I have decided using signals in designated turn lanes (in a line of cars), is just a waste of good battery power.  I'm back to hand signals a lot of the time, but not when alone on the road, or any time I need to show my intentions.

And no I will not put a butt buzzer or any of that shenanigans on my bikes.
