I just installed my goodyear triple tread and am happy with it...but then I saw this.
Falken ZE-512, comes in all the good sizes, 55, 60 and 65 series, depending on what you like. Very well rated, great looking tread design. Tirerack.com didn't offer them, but discounttire.com does. Well now the better news, only $73.00. My Tripletread was $113.00.
Anybody try this? How do you like it?

I think that it is a discontinued tire.  Stude 31 likes them so well that he bought an extra for his next tire also.  He is somewhere out on the road wearing out his second one right now and still has one in his garage for later.  If he has his laptop with him, he will probably chime in soon.  He is a big believer and I will say that his bike does handle well...JTL

i put several thousand miles on one, as has my buddy.
we like them a lot.
didn't wear out mine due to an accident(totaled).
buddy still running his.
the tire is discontinued
replaced by the 912, but the 912 tread isn't right for bikes.
can't think of the correct word, but, both sides of the tread the same.
to my thinking you want both side the same for handling.
my 2 cents.

I was riding on a ZE 512 and took a drill bit through the tread and out the sidewall last December.  I was able to find another one at discounttiresdirect.com.  205/60.  These guys were the only ones I could find that stocked them still.

Pharmboy,

Your right my friend.... I love this tire!!!   I got my tire(s) from tire-easy.com.  (falken 512).  I had read in the past that this tire was going to be discontinued and so I snagged an extra as I knew I was going to put on some miles this year.... I have rode this tire from topeka,ks to oklahoma and up to Inzane in Frisco and back home... I then left and went up to the U.P of michigan and down to Canton, Ohio... I rode two days and I am now in Hot Hot San Antonio...  This tire is amazing I love the way it feels and the cornering is effortless....  I heard that the 512 falken was going to be someone's "house" tire so it was going to be relabeled but not sure if that turned out to be the case or not.   I tried to talk wildman into the tire while he stayed with me last week in Topeka but he went back to his dunlop e3.

X-canuck rode my bike at inzane and loved the CT.  I had just met him and then ten min later I tossed him my keys and told him to take it for a spin and see what he thought.  He came back and couldn't wait to go home to put a CT on his.  He just read all the negative reviews and just didn't know what to think... I am not sure what tire he has but he loves it....  That is why I was in Canton over the weekend... That is a whole new story for another time...  I am in San Antonio cause my girlfriends boy is graduating AirForce boot camp tomorrow...  I have no clue how one can live down here... It is hot as hell... the asphalt cooks you from below and the sun bakes you from above.... Then if you crack your face mask the heat blasts your face...  This is crazy... I am heading out of here sunday morning way before the sun comes up...

Daniel Meyer and all the rest of you texans can have this heat... We have it in Kansas but it atleast drops below 90 at night....  And for all of you that bad mouth kansas...  Come on down here in southern texas and see what's out here...  atleast we have "green" stuff on the ground... Everything is burned up down here... hot hot hot

signing off for the night....

I will post pics of my trip and I must repeat what I said about inzane... We have great great folks in our club...  Wildman, Pharmboy, JimL, X-canuck and his wife sue, Budman and his friend Brad, Crazyhorse... I enjoyed our ride and your friendship...  X-canuck and wildman had a blast with you two and can't wait for our next trip.. JimL thanks for the dvd of our pics at InZane....
