I usually go to the Helmet Shop in Daytona and try on the one that I think will fit.  If I find the correct fit then I order it online and save $$.  Those things are so expensive that I don't mind being a little underhanded.

Cycle Gear in Tampa and St. Pete. Barneys in St. Pete. They both have a lot of helmets.
Like what was said earlier write down the model # and size and order on line. At least
you avoid sale tax. Just my $.0000002

Went to the Cycle Gear in Tampa, off Fletcher Road, and they were total jerks. They copped an attitude immediately upon finding out we were looking for cruiser gear and not sport bike gear. It was very plain that this particular location caters to squids, so we bought a few minor items and left. Would rather buy from local dealer than these guys. But sounds like Pinellas Park location under different management and doesn't treat us old folks like we have the plague. Have also had trouble with ordering from their catalog. Still prefer Revzilla and Motorcycle Superstore ... both have been top-notch.

Good choice. We love our Shoei helmets. Todd's on his second one.  In the past couple years Shoei upgraded to all-removable pads and more space for intercom speakers.  Todd cut a good portion of the protective foam out of my older model to fit in the speakers. Hmmm. Often wondered if that will affect the integrity of the helmet and if so, is this is a thinly veiled plot to trade me in on a newer model, too?  tickedoff

I am really surprised at Cycle gear getting an attitude. I have bought stuff from them for years and never had a problem, bought a Mesh jacket and gloves a couple months ago, clerk was very nice, and even gave me a good discount, sale price the sale was over the day before.

Shocked I hate to beat a dead horse but have to agree with Pennie about the Tampa Cycle gear. Jerks is too kind. They ( on the phone and in person, told me they would mount a tire, no problem, had it set up, brought it in and the manager went spastic. Wasted my time and to me that is very valuable and I don't like to get jacked around. It wasn't like I was a first time customer, and have spent quite a bit of money there.
I stopped dealing with their crap and travel across the bay to the Pinellas store or Barneys.

We enjoy the Pinellas store. They treat us like a valued customer and that's rare these days. Andrea has gone in alone to purchase gifts for me and they have always treated her well. I like that this particular location they really know their stuff and are willing to share/teach if you are willing to listen/learn. Good folks at Pinellas Park Cycle Gear cooldude

Would seem like Corporate HQ may like to know the sentiment expressed here since it is apparently affecting their bottom line. Maybe a reference to this thread sent to them would be a wake up call to those in the store.
