Ok I went and did it. I broke the number 3 oring in the rearend. It's Monday and all bike shops are closed. Does anyone know the size numbers  so I can get one or all of them at a hareware store. We've got all types of them here at work but if I have the number it would be much easier.

Here's a help if you can identify which 'o' ring you refer to.

http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/Module/Main/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/1/Make/Honda/YearID/41/Year/2000/ModelID/7142/Model/GL1500CT/GroupID/309312/Group/FINAL_DRIVEN_GEAR

The information is right there in the description of the part.

OK it's the 39.5 X2.4  oring. Is there a chart or something to get over to U.S. sizes. I know it is a 100 series that is the dia. of rubber of the ring.

Well, that's metric and any good supply house should have them listed that way also.  A cross over is easy.  The 2.4 is the diameter of the 'o'ring material and the 39.5 is the base circle of the 'o'ring.  I don't know series and wouldn't even try to hazard a guess.

Searching on google ought to come up with a lot of help.

A 129 may fit in a pinch..........

35.4 MM is ID of o'ring.... 25.4 MM = 1 inch

35.4MM = 1.555"

1 MM = .040" rough and dirty

2.4mm  = .096"

100 series is close.......

129 spec. is on chart in link.....

there......... Canada switching to metric 30 years ago finally paid off......... if I did the math correctly in my head.......

I din't find one yesterday but, I remembered I had a spare final drive in the cabinet at home so I robbed the ring from that one and I'm back on the road today. I'll order some shortly.
