Click on the link and insert your state and county.  Out little area has 35 assault rifles and some riot shotguns.  We have little to no serious crime.  Can't remember the last murder.  Could be worse, at least no grenade launchers.  I checked the Grand Rapids area, as I have several friends there. They only bought military cold weather gear (after last winter, who can blame them) and some bayonets (?)

My home county in Iowa, Emmet, is mostly agriculture. Town of about 27k, and they have tons of equipment. What the heck are they going to use it for....a three county turkey shoot. They didn't need all that when I was growing up in the early 50's and it was much more industrial then. Oh well, come the revolution we'll all have salt on our radishes.  Grin

Los Angeles County has 3 Anvils and an $800,000 cargo plane. I didn't read the whole list, it is 146 pages long. Our tax dollars hard at work.

Come to Green County WI,  must be one  of the safest places on earth (???)  they only bought five 5.56mm rifles back in 2006 is all.  Probably one rifle each for the 5 or so officers they have in the entire rural farmland county.    Every few years you hear stories of a high speed chase usually a teenager or young adult in his 20's thinking they can outrun the cops.  Eventually though, they almost always get you even if you do outrun them the first time.  The younger generation forget they almost all have nice cameras in their police cars recording video of the chase able to get license plates, etc.

I saw that Maricopa county (Phoenix) bought several hundred .45 cal pistols at $58.71 each.  I wonder how you get in on that.  Also saw that they got 4 mine resistant vehicles (they always come in handy) at $800,000 each, oh, and a $300 government issue hot dog machine.  82 pages total.

Holy Crap John, check out Buena Vista county in Iowa. Next door to me. Would be south of Emmet.
Home of Storm Lake.

Among the pistols and rifles are 5 Grenade Launchers and 2 Mine Resistant vehicles. I'm surprised they didn't a battleship and submarine.

WOW!!!

Seems a bit outlandish for some locations.
In my county I can understand this purchase.
CA SANTA CLARA TRUCK,UTILITY 1 Each $44,722.00 2/9/2011 no big deal.

But this one is ridiculous in my opinion.
CA SANTA CLARA MINE RESISTANT VEHICLE 1 Each $733,000.00 2/13/2014
Really a MRV?I have no indication we have any mine fields in this area...

And where are they getting these? I need some for that price.
CA SANTA CLARA BUTTSTOCK,SUBASSEMBLY 40 Each $15.57 3/17/2014

Um, guys... this stuff is not purchased. It is military surplus given to police agencies for free.

We got two Dodge 1 ton pickups a few years ago and got 5 rifles about 3 years ago.

1. Most of this military stuff is junk... been rode hard and put away wet.

2. cursed if you do, cursed if you don't situation. US military bought billions and billions worth of stuff and doesn't use it, or has no further use for it.... but it props up the economy when the military buys all this stuff right? What do they do with it? Let it rot?

3. Should be happy that your county or local agency is actively looking to get equipment for FREE. No tax dollars "wasted" (on the local level).

4. Who hasn't taken something for free even if they really don't need it... or will use it.

Pretty much boils down to.... take our junk (for the most part), we have no use for it.

Small town of 25K residents, Ferguson, Mo has the fire power to wipe out a well armed militia. Shocked

Small town cops will eventually be coming for your guns taking them over your dead body and prying them off
your dead cold hands. Roll Eyes

Big Brother is a lot closer to you than you ever imagined. Wink
