Inspected final drive..still OK but starting to get some howl from worne splines, (10% +- gone) cush drive rubbers etc....any thoughts short of replacing it...

If either spline set is only 10% worn, I just I would just clean them up, degrease them and go riding. If the dampers are a little sloppy, I'd replace them.

Splines won't howl even when worn. Tires, bearings, and gears can howl but not splines.

Thanks all.... thought about the tire issue... was replaced while they were doing inspection and howling seems to have stopped... will take care of splines as suggested. Hox
