I want to install a USB port on my Interstate. I want to have it come on when I turn on the ignition instead of wiring it direct to the battery. Can someone tell me is there is key switch powered connection/tap available?

Thanks

Someone will post the picture, but I'm sure there is a powered connector under the RH side cover.

I went with a direct wired USB port on my GW. Figured I would never leave anything on the bike plugged in after I got off, so no reason to have it powered by the key.

Also makes it easier to leave the cell on the bike overnight to charge.

I want it to power my little bike camera. I want it to power on (recording) and off with the key.

Nice little camera.

I wonder how well it would work for me. I want a dash cam so I have a witness while driving for work.

Comes very basic. No memory, or mount. Size looks very small.

Need to learn more. They write about a 5 min loop max. But it seems you can auto power on, and just record straight video. I think it continues to record till it powers down, or turns off when no more power.

Like my GL1100 Wing, I have a secondary fuse panel under the seat powered by the battery thru a fuse and relay triggered by a wire that is only live with the key "on". Using a circuit tester I found a wire live with the key in 'Aux', one with the key in 'Run', and one wire hot in both conditions, but not when the key is 'Off' or removed.
That panel feeds my Ipod, GPS, Voltmeter, and cig lighter. I'm planning an aux fuse panel in the faring for a power amp, cruise control and forward lighting, powered by a fuse from the battery thru a relay triggered by that same wire. The trick, for safety and battery life is to use relays for everything.

There's all kinds of choice for ports, see below.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=is_s_ss_i_1_15?k=motorcycle+usb+port&sprefix=Motorcycle+USB+

The wiring to power it can also be done a number of ways. As suggested, you could use the ACC  wire on your bike to trigger a relay system that powers the port. This way you protect the integrity of the OEM wiring.

Here is the camera I ordered. It has plenty of mounts as well as a memory card. I am really glad I bought this one.

Camera not currently available, no price.

The USB is the same one I used, but I only paid $5 from Princess Auto (Harbor Freight type store) when on sale.

Camera was still available when I posted. Sorry you missed out on that package. The camera is available from many places, but I don't know about the package that was put together I bought. Google might find one for you.

Princess Auto does not seem to have the USB port. On sale or otherwise.

I wired my IS up to run all my accesories off of one of thesehttp://www.cyclenutz.com/Fuzeblock-Fuse-Block-FZ-1_p_92.html
I like the way it is enclosed, and gives you a choice on wheather or not each circuit is always hot or switched then wired it to the Valkyrie accesory wire.

Not sure about an Interstate, but here is where the accessory wires are located on my 2001 Standard.

dancnman , if your asking about the FZ1 Fuze Block I removed the operators manual from the rear of the battery box. Used tin snips to remove the divider between the two small compartments. Then drilled holes in the bottom of the compartment one for each accesory wiring harness, and one for the wires feeding my new Fuze Block from the battery. By running the wires through the bottom of the box I am able to get my battery box lid off and on without to much concern about pinching wires between the battery box and lid. Then just dropped the Fuze Block in the back area of the battery box where all the wires terminate.

Found the switched leads. I ordered this so I can add more circuits. Hopefully in a neat manner.
