From another board....

Default Cruzin Al , He was also a Valk Rider

I heard this fine gentleman recently passed away. Not sure how many remember Al, he has not be active for several years, but he was famous around these parts for leading the Florida Coast to Coast Run for many years. Re a post from him in 2009....

 Ramapo 500/July 18th. - 19th., 2009

I read 'bout this ride in an old Road Rider magazine, October 1991 issue -- '13th. Annual Ramapo 500' -- so I Googled: Ramapo 500 -- to see if it was still going on -- yep, sure is -- Google Ramapo 500, some good reading.

More info for this year's ride -- do a click:

www.ramapomc.org

I'm registered for the ride -- anyone here thinking 'bout attended???

Never met Al, but if I remember correctly he kept the Coast to Coast ride going in memory of his Dad.  May he rest in peace.

Yeah, I remember him, haven't seen or heard of him in a few years. Although I never was able to make the C2C rides, I sure remember them being set up. RIP old friend.

Knew him well, he did a few local rides that I took with him.  He will be missed, rest in peace Al.

so sad  Sad  he was soft spoken and a nice person.
I thought about him a few days ago when I seen his email on my list.  I know he got real sick after the last one he did.  we did a few of them and what a fun adventure they were.   he put a lot of work into them and worried about everyone's safety.   we still take some of the roads he showed us on those rides cause they have great things to see and just are fun.  he will be missed by many.
