Alright, I just installed a new Dunlop Elite 3 rear tire and now I notice a noise as I’m riding down the highway.  I also installed three ounces of Dyna Beads, which I love by the way, they work real well.

I can’t really describe the noise, it’s as if something’s too tight, but it’s torqued to the correct 81’#’s.

The old tire was an Avon, I’m pretty sure it’s not the new extra tread.  I’m just wondering if anyone else has put on their own tire and found that something got bound up when the put it all back together.

I've put on over 150 miles, and still have that noise.

Thanks.

Dyna beads say's 2 oz in the rear tire, why did you add 3 oz ?   http://www.innovativebalancing.com/chart.htm#MotorcycleChart

If I put in 2 oz, but the tire only needs 1 oz., what happens to the rest of the beads?

Only the beads required to counteract the imbalance will be used, the rest will distribute themselves evenly around the inside circumference of the tire. This is the beauty of the system.

It is probably the tread singing to you......

Does your cage sing at times?

Same difference,

They should be loosened, and when you re-assemble the axle and tourqe it, they should be tightened last.
