Reading all the Darkside info and am ready to buy. Found a 205/60/R16 92V Vredestein Sportrac 3 Summer Performance Tire. Is that what you Vredestein guys are using?   Think the R is just radial, and the 92 is a load range, but haven't seen those mentioned and also the "Summer Performance", just want the correct tire. Thanks  Firefighter

Sounds about right, what did you pay for it and how old is the tire?

Be cautious of  the Vredestein Sportrac 3 tires on ebay all the ones I have found are 07 - 09 year model tires.

OK, well I picked the Vredestein because of all of the chatter on our forum. I could not find this tire anywhere but ebay. So what is the next best? I'm reading about the Yokohama Envigor, should I try that? When I look this tire up, I get Yokohama Avid Envigor, is this the one? No DOT dates printed, what are you guys using?  Firefighter

Michelin goes out on a limb and says that a tire up to 10 years old - in use - is fine as long as you give it an annual inspection every year after year 5. A tire in storage - not in a hot trunk or underneath a car as a spare - but rather in a building or garage will age much more slowly than one in use that is exposed to the elements. Really, not that much is known about aging tires in benign environments.

Yokohama Avid Invigor V rated is what I ran on my I/S with no issues. The wing will get one on the next change out. I ordered them from Tirerack.

I have had 12 year old Michelins with over 85,000 miles on my F-150 the rubber was hardened but they still ran fine. However I won't install a tire over 18 months old on any of my bikes. If you have an issue with 4 tires on a cage YOU may get to pick up pieces of TIRE off the road. If you have an issue with 2 tires on a bike THEY may get to pick up pieces of YOU off the road. Just not worth it in my judgement..
