Hello everyone!  I have a 97 Valk standard and I recently replaced my front turn signals with LED bulbs. As I figured, they now blink a million times a minute because of the load difference on the flasher module. I read in another post on here that Autozone sells a module that is LED compatible so yesterday I paid the $12 for an EP34 flasher from Autozone and attempted to install it. I found the OEM module (again thanks to this board) behind the left side cover, behind the overflow tank. I cut off the old module and installed and heat shrink tube sealed the required blade connectors on. Everything looked good except I can't get the darn thing to work. What color wires go to what on the flasher? I read someplace that the green is the ground, I think the grey goes to the lights and the black is power?  Three wires, three connections. At this point thinking either the flasher is bad or it's not the correct one. Any suggestions would be welcome. The LED bulbs in the front are super bright. Especially since I used white LEDs, so I would like to keep them in if at all possible. Open to alternate solutions as well since I still have the stock flasher and could reinstall it if needed. Thanks in advance!

I had legions of problems with LED signals (probably all ground).

Fast flashers was number one.

Took it apart many times, used an electronic flasher.  Never got it exactly the way I wanted it.  Would not use load equalizers which end up with the same draw as regular bulbs and get hot enough to cause wiring damage.

I would have been better off with fast flashing signals.... They are supposed to attract attention and let others know your intention to turn. What better way than to have them fast flashing, looking out of the ordinary, and attracting attention?  Of course, I knew anyone in the know would understand I did not have them hooked up properly, so I kept at it, over and over.  Let them be fast.

I doubt fast flashers would be cause to fail an annual safety inspection, if you have such requirement.

Too bad.  You could have spent $110 and had plug & play,  running lights, 4-way flashers, auto cancel, selectable time-out, and brake flash. No, not related to Kisan.

I saw that and it looks awesome!  I didn't want to pay the $110 though.

I wish I would have found that two years ago when I converted to LEDs.  To keep from cutting up the wiring harness, I cobbled up the OEM flasher to make a pluggable adapter to a standard flasher relay.  That was a lot of work.

Hey argon.. I have the exact same bike n did the exact same thing..installed super bright white led for my turns.. I wired the flasher  and NO flashing!! I was bummed and thought I had  to buy another flasher..then I thought " what the heck" and REVERSED the wiring on the flashers... Boy was I happy when  they worked!!!! So try that ... the wires came  one way on the flashers but were installed backwards for a 97 valk....

Turned out the fuse for the turn signals had blown. Must have touched wires or something. In any case, replaced the fuse and the Autozone flasher works great. The other flasher works well too. I'll probably use the extra flasher to put in hazards. Lol. Def doesn't take much to blow those fuses!  At least now I have spares! Thanks for all the help.

I did that but I have an early model signal minder. I have LEDs in back and tungsten in front.  Recently re-installed the back seat so i made a custom Highlighter for me that has 54 LEDs, wired in as run brake and turn. No problem for the Kisan.  I'm guessing no problem for later models as well.

Well, that would do it. Fuses with a hole in the middle don't work well. And you're right, it doesn't take too much to blow them, thats their job.

Custom job on the back of the passenger back rest  cooldude!!
Does that Kisantech unit work well with no problems? It interests me a great deal. I don't like to mess with the electrics if I don't have to. That device seems to have some really useful, good features. Are you happy with the performance and was the install that simple?

PAIS,

I installed mine almost two years ago and couldn't be happier with it! It is a pretty straight forward install, just follow the directions. I set up all the options, the only modification I made was to cut 1 wind off the springs that go in the turn signal switch. Now all I have to do is figure out how to replace the turn signal indicator bulbs to LED, the incandescent bulbs now stay on dimly lit all of the time.

I installed LED front & rear turn signal lights with the Signal Minder & it works great. The SM is well worth the price for safety alone.

Got the LED's @ Auto Zone.
