It seems the hexagon pin that screw into a frame member snapped at the frame. Couldn't find the frame piece on the microfiche page. I see one obvious bolt to remove. Any one have any hints / info? 1978 Tourer.

I copied this from a post once. Can't guarantee the numbers are correct so please verify them. Side stand spring bolt
Go to the microfische for "Frame" >>> Sidestand Bracket = #10 >>> Bolt = #11 - Hook, Spring >>> Nut = #19 - Nut, U, 6mm The fiche diagram isn't very clear but I think I need #6--- 90111-MZ8-000 special bolt.

I belief it is that special bolt that snapped at the thread portion in the side stand bracket. I am going to have to take the ss bracket off and ez-out what is left of the special bolt. I have been trying some advanced hebraic engineering, but it ain't happening. Meh. Thanks!

1978 Tourer, Yes Bone that is the bolt. It broke flush with the bracket. when it stops raining I will attempt to take the bracket off and extricate the remains. Small for an ez out

I'm just gonna guess 1998? The bolt pokes out the other side of the bracket and has a locknut on it...you can usually remove the remains by grabbing the locknut and unscrewing it from the other side...and if the locknut comes off you can usually grab the remains of the bolt with vice grips...

The bolt on my 98 Tourer was bent which weakened the pull of the spring. Glad I found it before parts started to fall off. Laying on the floor I found out how the bolt was bent. The front bar of my Sears lift would hit the bolt if pushed under the bike to far. Guess that made me the problem haven't bent one since

I watched a certain large individual from CA remove his bolt while parked at the entrance of Crater Lake National Park one morning a couple of years ago. The bolt as mentioned above has a nut on the top side and should come out without using an ez-out.
I didn't know that is bolt has a tendency to break. Need to order one for a road side break.

When mine broke I made my own from a standard metric bolt of the proper length. I slipped a piece of plastic tubing over it so there would be that groove at the end for the spring. I ordered the correct Honda part but never got around to installing it. That was 80K miles ago and the home made one still works fine.

Mine broke a few months ago. Daniel is correct you have a lock nut on the other side that can be used to unscrew the broken part out. Search the tech section for the repairs. Bend the spring and insert quarters or nickels to remove the spring. I think it takes 12. You may want to remove the kickstand and clean/re-grease the kickstand bolt.
