I'm looking to replace my Stock petcock with a Pingel. Which model should I get? John

I like simple so I got the basic petcock. The one with no vacuum shut off.

Some who have the vacuum model like theirs too.

I think you have to decide that question first.  Vacuum or no.

1311-CHV is the vacuum operated.
1311-CH is the manual.

I would recommend getting a worm-drive hose clamp to properly secure the fuel line.  It fits just a hair looser than stock on my setup.  (Maybe my stock line was stretched, who knows...)

I prefer the manual petcock, but thats just my opinion.. Whenever my right hand heads for the ignition key my left hand heads for the petcock lever.. The original fuel line is metric and larger than 5/16" which is what the Pingle uses.. I fixed that by force-fitting a 3/8" in-line fuel filter into both lines.. I believe that Pingle makes several models that will work, they have one that is more intuitive than what most of us were installing years ago[our levers kinda go backwards so it takes some getting used to]..

I have a Pingle vacuum and I really liked it because I would never turn off the fuel. I sent it to pingle and they rebuilt it and I also put on a belly tank so no more need of the vacuum Pingle. If you want a vacuum one email me but all that aside if you remember to shut off the fuel then a manual is the way to go. I would recommend the vacuum one only with a damper for the vacuum. The reason is the pulses from the one cylinder really make the diaphragm work quite hard and its always flexing so with a damper its not as bad. Not to mention I really wonder if having a damper in the line helps with fuel because at idle there really isn't sufficient vacuum to let enough fuel into the engine. With the pulsing in the valve it is constantly pulling the diaphragm back and forth the time its actually open is quite short at idle and I dont think any diaphragm will hold up to this kind of constant movement. Hence I think this is part of the reason even the stock valve has a hard time. If you would like to see for yourself hook up a vacuum gage and watch the needle fluctuate just like when you balance the carbs.

I have a non vac and like it. Sometimes I forget to turn it off for a week at a time and all is good. If your use to turning it off go for the non vac. You reach under the tank a ways but its not bad.
