Hello all, Does anyone know where to get some scuff protectors for the front of the saddlebags where the passengers heels would hit? This would be on for an 01 IS with stock bags. Thanks for any help!

No longer made. Put a WTB (want to buy) add in the classifieds. Or check eBay or Craigslist. Here's a good all Craiglslist search engine.... http://www.adhuntr.com/They're made from unobtainium and are rare and hard to find. Be prepared to $pend lot$ if you find any.

Out of all the unobtanium on the list of discontinued valk parts, those may be the hardest single item to come by. And if you do, be prepared for a 2d mortgage. In fact, it may be easier to find a pair of used-salvage valk bags with them already stuck on (tape), than the scuff guards alone. (Then sell the bags) Only guy I ever knew to have some was Big Mike in Taylor MI, but I think he quit the business. You could give him a call (or PM) to see if he has any. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php?topic=66518.0

Might be cheaper to remove the passenger pillion. I Saw a bike a while ago that had them. When I asked where he got them, He said he made them. Used the 6" Stainless Steel stick-on accent panel from the side of pickup and cut to shape. (J.C. Whitney) Looked good. I know! Not Honda, but they work and looked factory.

I had wondered if someone made a clear film...all I really want is something like that so that my Kuraykyn retractable cruise pegs don't mar the paint. Seems they don't fit quite right on this bike...bags are in the way to let them drop all the way down.

The I/S I just picked up has the clear film scuff protectors on the front of the bags. I had a similar product applied to my car - bumper, hood and mirrors - and it works incredibly well. Can even be waxed like paint (just avoid getting it in the edges/seams, or be prepared to use a toothbrush to get the line of wax off that a cloth won't). 3M makes a similar product, but the better one (IMO, after research) is called Llumar. Taking a look at the web site ( http://www.llumar.com/find-a-dealer ) there are around 10 dealers within a reasonable trip from your location that can sell it to you or apply it for you. Highly recommended product in my experience.

Thanks for the link!
The garage is a bit dark at the moment, but the cruise peg should fold behind the floorboard...but it hits the bag before it can finish its arc down. I don't know if it will move or not, but do not wish pit to mar the surface if it does rub.

Yea, I'd say that's pretty outrageous! I think I'll stick with a clear covering.

Out of all the unobtanium on the list of discontinued valk parts,
I heard they are now also out of unobtanium and have made a material substitute with costalotium.

here is a ideal, if you want the protectors in chrome. go to your local parts dealer or Walmart. there buy the mirror replacement sheets ( those used to replace side mirrors ) and cut them to the shape you want. then 3m tape them inplace. the sheets are some what pliable so they will bend to fit. and they shine like chrome. not to mention cheap.
