Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a aftermarket fuel tank or anyone who makes a replacement tank for my 2000 std.
Had a bit of an off & stuffed my tank.
Been looking on ebay & acc stores but stuff all about.
cheers...

You can maybe still get a standard tank from Honda. There have been a few on the classifieds on this board. Pinwall cycle parts in Ohio is a breaker that often has a bunch of parts for Valks. They sell on ebay a lot. I have bought from them several times, and had good experience. Should be able to find a standard tank fairly easily. Put an ad in the classifieds as a WTB and someone will hit you up cooldude

Good news, I have a Black one in pristine condition. Bad news, I won't be home until January.

Thanks for the replies but I was looking for a company that made a tank for the Valkyrie.
After searching the net for 2 days,I found nothing.
I can either find a interstate/std tank or I can cut mine up to increase the capacity.
cheers...

The only aftermarket I ever remember reading about was a fiberglass or carbon fiber tank that supposedly was notorious for leaking.  Maybe made by Advanced Composites Engineering. Check out this thread.

I also seem to recall someone ripped his tank in half and added a strip down the middle.  There were pictures posted, but I cannot locate the thread.  Maybe someone else remembers or has better search skills than me.

But in answer to your questions, I am unaware of any aftermarket tanks for the Valkyrie.

Yeah I remember that. I think it was a guy in San Diego and the bike was up for sale a while back.

There was this one altered for a Magna.

A Valkyrie tank modified.

I was going to look into having the Valkyrie IS tank re-produced overseas, but could never get a family member to check it out while they where there.

Also, was worried about liability, selling one.

I've got 2 x 10 gallon tanks, one is metal & one is carbon fibre.  No history on where they were made but both actually look well made. It certainly is an improvement over the capacity of the standard tank. If I can find a brand name on either I will report back.

you could talk to SteveB in the UK.
he had some valkyrie tanks enlarged in the past, by welding in some strips in the middle, so that the tank looks like this :

there are a couple of UK and french valks like that.

If that is not enough, check out his custom made 50L tank:

If you're just trying to carry more gas, there is a belly tank available. There are several add on gas tanks that will work with the valk, but IMHO they are ugly.  cooldude

Plus the extra weight would be down low, less worries of a hydrolock .

Not just less but no worries of hydrolock.  Gas after the belly tank is installed comes from below the carbs and is only moved when the ignition is on by a fuel pump.  That's the one very small negative, dependence on an operating fuel pump.

Yup, Rams can tell you about belly tank fuel pump failure.  At least the fuel lines can be MacGyvered back to gravity feed from the main tank.  It's not something that would discourage me from getting a belly tank if I needed one, though.

Hello Brian,

I have a tank from a 99 tourer that was going to be cut for a custom bike. The PO decided to keep the tank the way it was and not use this one. Anyway the guy moved and sold all his shop tools and valk parts to me. In this deal was this tank with the chrome gas trim without the locking cap. Message me if you are interested. I have no idea what the shipping cost would be.

Have a great day!
