Before going into this I need to say that I have not seen the removed thread from Dennis aka Rodeo1 aka cma1 I know now it was a response to our good friend Donna's request for computers. You may recall that I also questioned it offering to buy the whole class paper tablets but after a PM to Donna and back I kicked in for her. There is little I would not do for Donna and Rusty
But I may have insight that others do not from hundreds of emails and face to face time He does not know I am doing this and probably would be irritated by it but hey its my dime...so read and either pile on or flame away or just go to the next thread....its a free country
Dennis is a former member of our armed services, a real patriot, former law enforcement, former rodeo and nascar driver, a cancer survivor, a great mechanic and person who just loves movement whether on a trike, a harley a valk a mustang or a vette
What defines him I would say in this latter stage of his life is his committment to besides the cma ministry and his wife and that would be tireless efforts for the food bank and helping others
Who among us can actually say that we do such work without seeking compensation? He quietly does this and I bet none of you had any idea if you had not met him and it came up.
Dennis' strong suit is NOT his ability to type and express his thoughts. That perhaps is my gift which is why I am a successful attorney. So my case for you my vrcc brothers and sisters is to not judge this former member by his last post but by the man himself.
No doubt that he was tongue in cheek about the Valk's failings and he has more miles on them than I do in fact. Unfortunately he wears his feelings on his sleeve and let the ribbing those of us old timers take for granted get under his skin.
I consider his leaving our vrcc family a loss, I consider the leaving of The Anvil, Bobbo KW and many others also a loss And it is his loss never having been to an Inzane.
Big Al, well he cant stay away and like most, once we have met him, we get him.
Finally ASSHAT, might as well say doodyhead as its just juvenille.
like Oss-hole
Hand me a beer and Say it to my face , not hiding behind a keyboard

Good Post Mr. OSS.
Dennis sounds like a great guy.
CMA or Dennis is like you and I it seems.
I know that public school gets our tax money and why should we augment that.
But as we also know teachers give a lot, and make all the difference.
I jumped in to the Gap so to speak when a couple lit in on the thread negatively.
With a promotion and donation to the cause.
Glad I did, but it was too late, the naysayers and asshat band had pounced.
Thanks for telling it like it is.
For the record I had no Idea, that CMA meant Christian Motorcyclist Association.
Thanks From Big Al.
See you soon. I hope.,

Oss I'm sure he is a good and decent man...... So why did he need to take a big crap in our sand box before he left? From what I can gather, Willow called him an asshat and he found greener pastures on the Harley forums 'cause no one there has called him an asshat there yet. AND, he says that they don't brand bash over there on the Harley boards ( yeah, sure) and apparently he thinks Harley is the better bike for him. Either way, we really NEED waaaaaaay more hot biker babe and hot secretary threads.

I think the fellow, Asshat, so to speak was embarrassed by what he had done.
He got called on it, reacted the way he did, out of desperation.
Dennis having a few days to think about it, would maybe have second thoughts.
He almost assuredly did not know Donna, so he really had no frame of reference.
A little forethought, on the Asshat club, with some PM'ing instead, could have
averted a situation.
Oss has PM'ed me and others to give some understanding with out harming our Little Feelings.
Maybe in the future a PM Heads Up would be the better part of Valor.

Most of our postings are our personal opinions anyways, not facts. Some on this board, including myself a few times, take posts a tad too personal and get defense over stupid _hit instead of brushing it off as just an opinion is all it is. Some also on this board get way too involved into politics and religion. Not facts, just my opinions. Am sure cma is a great guy as most are on this board and feel strongly in their beliefs and opinions. Why can't we all just agree to disagree - end of story!

My daughter gave me a t-shirt that my son-in-law found advertised in one of those airline magazines. It says; Of Course I'm Right, I'm BOB. You can't print something on a t-shirt that isn't true. Al least that's what I tell people. So now, I'm always right and I have a t-shirt to prove it.

I still don't understand what the hoopla is about, but, thats OK. I don't remember all this when someone/anyone else has been mad and left. But, thats OK too.
I think its strange when someone changes their handle.
This is a tough forum [ as any other] to get along in. It would be 'more better' for everyone to sit, talk, have a beer and a few laughs. Which, I think, most of us could do.

I don't drink beer or laugh. Beer tends to make me mean. Well I guess I do laugh from time to time but not very loudly. ???

Yup...all of them are tough as I've been able to see anyhow. And I really did not join this board to "get along". Don't like me....fine...not gonna lose a wink of sleep over it. We get along? Then that's fine as well. Don't like my posts.....then when you see my handle in the thread put on your illiterate cap and don't read it. Want to call me an asshat? Have at it....online or in person....no big deal. I quit trying to please everyone decades ago. "I yam what I yam," said a famous fictional sailor years ago. Someone mentioned that there is an "elite" group that fancy themselves above others. So far have had no luck in discerning who may be a member of that group. And I wonder what the criteria are to be ordained into such a group....if it exists. Sorry, I was wrong....don't wonder about that at all...not important. And if I cheese you off with my replies to threads....your problem not mine. It's certainly not going to cause me to tuck my tail and run away. I have offended people online and in person for years....not gonna change. (At least not until my wife orders me to stop) I think I could make some really good friends on this board....and I really hope to make it to Inzane next year. That way I can annoy all of you for 3-4 days.

The criteria for ordination requires the person seeking membership into this elite group to buy all in the group a steak and all you can eat crab leg dinner complete with ice cream dessert, one of which must be flaming (a tribute to the darksiders). Then provide each current member a gift box containing Techron, one gallon of synthetic oil, and a petcock rebuild kit or a manual petcock. (including installation) That qualifies you for consideration and we vote every quarter and limit new members to 2 per quarter. Illegal members are deported to the VOA board.

I have some friends that are mean drunks regardless of what they drink and its my job for some strange reason to take care of them and keep them from becoming too mean. I'm the lovable drunk. As far as laughing, I have to laugh. I can't take life or anything in it too serious. I laugh at myself, at others and with others. To each his own. And, my previous post wasn't to be taken verbatim. It was what I guess would called a metaphor. Drink what you like and laugh or not. The point was its better to sit around and talk with others, do what people do, and, see if there is any common ground. Its easier to find it there than here. I like to talk to people, most people anyway. It beats typing. I want to see peoples faces, actions and body language. I don't have a problem talking to the person next to me. If they want to talk thats fine, if they don't, so be it.

I have been away from the board for awhile but it sounds like the same ole crap. Someone pissed in someone else's Cheerios, they in turn got their panties in a wad and on top of that they decided to take their ball and go home. GOOD GRIEF! Put your big girl pants on and suck it up. Everyone here has a past that no one knows about and a life no one knows about and things they did or are doing now that no one knows about, good or bad. The thing is. We are who we are. There are going to be people that don't like you for whatever reason and probably some people you won't like either........SO WHAT! I know there are some folks who may not care for me........screw'em! I don't give a flying %#&$! Take care of your wife, girlfriend, family, friends and yourself and the heck with the rest. As for the people that packed it up and left the board........one word.....CHOICE! And you know what? We all have a CHOICE! And that's LIFE boys and girls.

If you don't know where your going any road will take you there George Harrison
When you come to the fork in the road, take it Yogi Berra (Don't send it to me C.O.D.)

So if someone pisses you off,....you sell your bike, buy a lesser brand, leave the forum and join another brand forum board.
Sounds a bit childish, but we'll never know.

I've owned a few Harleys and knew what I was getting into when I bought them.
The Victory was based entirely on my experiences with the older 100 or 92 cubic inch ones. Victory is not a popular brand ib my region so i had few occasions the experience them first hand. I wish I would have got on forum and researched them a little more and got owners opinions. But in reality everyone on the Victory forum was drinking the Kool Aid. The same guys that's would post about all the problems they were having were the firsts guys to pipe up and tell you how great the bike was and why you're an idiot for buying anything else.
In my opinion you can't please everyone. So don't try. Someone got their feelings hurt. It happens. He's an adult and he should do what he thinks is best for him. I can't say I disagree with his opinion of the old Valkyries myself. Newer Harleys aren't bad in my opinion either just designed for a different market. I'm sure I'll own another Harley one day as a spare bike when I find one for an irresistible deal. I'd never pay close to any book value for one myself.

I finally disagree with you, Evan!
Let'em go! He didn't have to go like he did. He's an adult and chose his words and said what he wanted to say.
And as for one or two of the other folks you mentioned who had left,..... good riddance. I'm sure there will be a few who'll say the same if I choose to leave. We're a big group with no initiation or prospecting so we're gonna get all kinds from all walks, who happen to either ride or like Valkyries. We're not gonna like'em all and they're all not gonna like us.
