if anybody purchased them last night, they are not I/S shocks. I emailed Pinwall on Monday about this and they never responded and saw last night that somebody won the auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/131329670400?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT#ht_4401wt_943

Thanks hupcapsc for helping to clear this up
There's more to the story, I think...
It seems like Interstate shocks are another discontinued Valkyrie part, and "mz0 a41"s are from later model Std/Tourers... early model Std/Tourers are "mz0-003"s... tack on 52500 or 52400 on the front to get left or right side...
So... that Interstate had Tourer shocks on it?

I'm the one that won the auction. I just got home from work tonight and saw the posts. How do I verify that this is in fact an Interstate shock? Thanks for the noticing this CA!

Thanks guy's for pointing this out. I would have noticed, but not until I pulled the first one off of my "97 Tourer. I hope they will make an exception with their return policy on this one!. That's baffling though as to why they were coming off that "01 Interstate, but then we don't know the history of that bike either. It may have been a rebuilt bike for all we know or maybe they ran out of (MBY-671) since this was the last year and just used what they had left over. What a wonderful site this is!

I had about two times whereas they mixed up items by mistake. They don't want to pay for return shipping and want a positive review, so they just refunded my money and didn't ask for the products back. just contact them they will work with u.

That's comforting to know that. This is my 1st time ordering from them and certainly don't want it to be the last. I just sent them a note and just kindly explained the situation. Thanks again for your knowledge.

Odd.... They indicated gl1500 rear shocks in the heading, no mention that they were for an Interstate, just that they came off an Interstate. The PO could very well have swapped them out or replaced them before the bike ended up at Pinwall. Keep us posted on the status of the return and what Pinwall does for ya.

Pinwall can't or will not answer questions about regarding specific parts. I have tried three times to get a response on cams to make sure they are not from a CA bike. Both sides the same would also be a big plus and apparently they expect you to mic the parts once you receive them to see what you bought. Partzilla here I come at twice the price but I will know the right parts are there when the s#0w stops me from riding.

I've found them easy to deal with. But as already pointed out, not only Pinwall, but most ads, say what it was from. Doesn't matter if it is a correct OEM part for that bike or not, but that it came off a "working" bike.
An example would be a rear brake light I saw from an IS that was mounted on the fender. They don't have one. So I knew it was from a std/tourer, and was for a Super Valk mod.

They were selling front discs but omitted the thickness. Assuming the rotors were straight/true, the remaining material is how you judge the life left-and exactly what you were buying. Later, I did buy a used choke cable from them with no issues.

I have an exact opposite set of experiences from those who say they didn't get responses or help from Pinwall. I have purchased about 40 parts from them over the last three years.
I will start by saying that I don't have anything to do with the company, other than as a customer. In '12 I bought an '00 I/S from an individual that was an Insurance Bike. I replaced quite a few parts, many coming from Pinwall on ebay. I wrecked the bike twice since and bought even more parts from them (a whole other story). I even made a mistake and ordered Standard engine guards for my I/S from them. They took them back for a full refund....I only had to pay freight which I thought was very fair. I also bought a fuel petcock from them that leaked and they shipped me a replacement in three days.
I addition, I have found that they give the most accurate descriptions and detailed photos of every part I have ever viewed. Their use of the "yellow pencil" usually shows even the most minor defect.
Everyone has their own opinions based on their experience with any brand. Mine is just a different view based on MY experiences as a Pinwall customer....
I will continue to do business with them...but hopefully not due to any more "lay downs".

Pinwall has screwed me a couple times, I no longer deal with them. I have a set of shocks that came off of my 99 interstate, If you do not get satisfaction from them, contact me, willing to swap as I no longer have the IS, and am riding a tourer now.

After reading all of the responses from people in this thread, I am inclined to believe Pinwall will allow me to return them, provided I call them after I receive the parts. I did send them a note yesterday morning, but no response from them yet.
In reference to CA's question as to the possiblility of Honda eventually going with one shock for ALL Valks, using the Interstate shock and assigning it a new p/n, is there anyone out there that has an '01 Interstate that can verify the p/n on the rear shocks?
Grumpy, I appreciate your offer to swap if Pinwall won't work with me. I have a "97 Tourer and was looking to install Interstate shocks for a possible better ride. I will let you know something soon!

You know, after examining the pics that CA provided, the Interstate shocks that are shown DO look identical to the ones I just received from Pinwall and not even close to the ones that are shown coming off a Standard. It's only the p/n that's different. Perhaps someone with an Interstate may see this thread and confirm the same.

what is even more interesting is that shock MZO-003 is listed for '99-'03 std/tourers bikes. I/S first yr is '99. std/tourers '97/'98 have a different # listed for them and look different. I/S had its own # shock. is the '99-03 std/tourer shocks different than the '97/98 shocks? it be good to know. Showa might answer questions or they might not. https://www.showa1.com/en/contact/form_contact.htmlHonda powersports # is useless, they say talk to the dealer who also will be useless.

It may be easier to just start a new thread and see what we come up with. I'll ask people with 2000/2001 Interstate's to check the Showa p/n on their rear shocks, report the findings to the thread and see what we come up with.
