my cb will not power up on command from the power switch. the display says ''Er'' meaning error. it has been working since I bought the bike but now acting sketchy. Sometimes it will turn on, mostly 50/50 chance. I have confirmed power from the white 3 wire plug under the right side cover. I'm assuming this plug is the main power lead. Previous owner had installed the cb in the tray behind the battery, so not sure about his mechanical skills. could there be a bad ground somewhere I don't see or just some electrical corrosion on the power plug?

had the same issue once with mine. took of the drivers seat and found the control wire to the c b unit loose. unpluged and repluged the control wire and it solved my problem. i then taped the two halfs togeather with electrical tape to insure they would not pull apart.

I believe Dag's site has the install manual. Get it and check your connections, unplug and plug back in.

most of the time when I get that er message. it's the big connector that connects the cb to the radio.
I just unplug it and plug it back in and that takes care of it for awhile.
usually happens once a year

Okay, I got it stay on for now. I took the white 3 wire connector apart, scratched the terminal wires clean. Applied some dielectric insulating grease and plugged it back together. So far it has not given me that "Er" message on the dash. See how long this will last.
