You should be getting a call from JP soon.  I just got off the phone with him and told him, "Man, you know you are going to go - so get the Hard6 clean!"

He said he had some bikes to get out and I told him, "Start earlier and take less breaks!"

He is going to come...... I know it would kill him not to.

But Bro, be careful of telling folks that you got us in tow....they may pick some really wierd place to meet since they know that property values will never be the same in that area again!  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Oh Gawd, he's got two coon-arses with him - there goes the neighborhood!  :Smiley

Man, this is going to be fun!  A bunch of us old bikers running all around Texas with no agenda....YIKES!  This is going to be a major HOOT and THANKS EARY BIRD for putting this together.  I may not be able to stick around - I have to be back ya know....Well, before March 6th at least!  Grin  This is like the FIRST ride for 2009 and I sure am glad I am off for it.  Weather looks "fan-tas-tix".  A bit cool in the morning but nice and clear!  I just need to make sure that I fill both Traveler and me up with antifreeze in the evenings!

WOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

This is going to be a BLAST!

Guess it depends on when all can get away, and when we want to get there.
Would be cool to meet up in Rosenberg at 59 @ 36 at the Shell in the NE corner.  go west on Alt 90 , Lizzie, Eagle Lake, Shiner, and a bunch other cool little towns to Gonzales, then up 183 to where 183 and 290 run together in Austin.....We would cross a couple freeways, but time on the superslab would be minimal.  Probably 2 or so hours longer than a more direct route.
If we need to start late and get there early...... meet at the same place,go up 36, catch I-10 at Sealy and 71 at Columbus to Austin.

Either way, it will take us a about +/- an hour to may Rosenberg, coming through Rosharon, Guy, Needville.

I personally like the 1st choice!!!!!! But I'm open.

We're  catching the red-eye back to Houston tomorrow from Honolulu. We can meet anytime on Friday. Hwy 59 @ 36 sounds good. Let us know!

You can pick up 36 at 1462, reaching 1462 either from Alvin on 35, or Rosharon on 288.   Either of those work for you?

Was planning to take 35 to 1462 through Rosharon to Guy and catch 36 there then to meet at 36/59.... That would be pretty handy for R and M coming out of Sugarland.  I think it would be easiest to have a single meetup.
How does 0900 hrs at the Shell/McDonalds ....NE corner of 59 and 36 work for Y'all?
BTW..... just got off the phone with JP.  He was telling me about an OLD BBQ place in Lockhart... think the name was 'Blacks'...sounds like a good place for a late lunch!!!!!!!!!  We will go through there if we go up 183 to Austin!!!!!!!!

I am just following the tail lights in front of me - but non superslab sounds good.  If I remember right, a superslab in Texas looks just like a superslab in Louisiana (just better road).

Is ya crazy?  I just ran it through Streets and Trips and that is like a 240 mile day - I mean, 5 hours in the saddle!  Guess I better break out the Boudreaux' Butt Paste and Anti Monkey Butt Powder!!  Grin Grin Grin Grin

Looks like a great route bro!

And did you mention food to boot?  :Smiley

This was the purple pie place (one guess on what they served) in Custer, SD.

Boy, this is beginning to sound like a great get-together.  Can I come along this weekend?  Huh?  Please?

I promise, I will try to be good.

By the way, the POOL IS NOT OPEN!!!!  It has been accumulating trash over the winter.  Opens in April.  Sorry all, but we can still have our pool party.

That is the best kind of pool party!  We can sit around and watch the pool ferment.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Except for once, I don't think I ever saw anyone actually get IN a pool at a pool party.

Man, this is going to be fun.  This time tomorrow, I should be on Texas roads heading west.  Bike is ready - just have to go and pick up another memory card for my camera and some stump water for the pool party.

Hey Early Bird, be careful of making promises you may not be able to keep....  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

WHOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

:(Man I'ld luve to come join you guys for the weekend but it doesn't look too good. So if you see me you might have to keep me for awhile. Strider you and JP just keep your skidlids pulled down tight and try not to look strangers in the eyes. JP watch out for the pool and the longisland teas. It's our secret? Smiley

Smiley Stop the presses just made res. for Friday & Saturday night. I don't get off till 6am  Friday morning so we'll be leave arround noon so we'll arrive later than most. We're most likely gonna stop at an outlet mall in route to kill time to let Austin traffic clear some before we hit town. Denise said not to worry she knows where all the outlet malls are and how to shop them. We'll see ya all Friday night. Cool

OK...Just changed the rear drive fluid, overhauled the blinker switch (it was feeling gummy), and installed the new Rivco air horns (so ya'll can hear me comin'!)...when will the Valkyries fly over the battlefield that is Austin traffic and choose their fallen soldiers to take back to Valhala...er... Heart of Texas Motel...uh, what time are ya'll hittin' town?

I be should be doing some work at my warehouse which is just around the corner from the Heart-o-Texas.  Give me a ring for an early meet-up Friday 512-422-8636.
