I have LaMonster style risers on my recently purchased Valkyrie Tourer.  I just put on a Ultimate King Big Boy seat (which I love), but now I'm a little too far from the handlebars.

What is your experience with maximum height and pullback while using the stock throttle cables.  I know I will have to re-route them behind the triple tree, but what about the brake line, etc.  Are they long enough?  I really don't want to replace ALL my cables and hoses.

I have been looking at 4 1/2 to 6 inch Deuce style risers.  They're pretty inexpensive, but I'm not sure how tall I can get away with.

Any insight will be appreciated!

P.S.  I did search, but couldn't find a definitive answer.

I think this is a matter of installing the risers and then measuring and ordering new cables.. I had a pair of LaMont's  risers along with a TBR  triple clamp and could barely route the original cables behind the clamp/forks and ended up ordering longer cables[3"]..I didn't like the look of the cables behind the clamp either.. Changing cables isn't a hard job..

Yah, I will buy new throttle cables if I have to, but I don't really want to replace the brake hoses, etc.

What did you have to pay for throttle cables?  I think I have seen them for about $60 each.

It seems that alot of people have run their cables behind the triple tree with it working OK.   Undecided

I'm hoping someone notices this thread that has 5 to 6 inch risers and let's me in on their experience installing them.

Thanks for the input, though.

I have 4 1/2" X 2 1/2" Risers, Custom Chrome part, rerouted the cables behind the trees and it works well, I don't think you could go much higher without changing cables and lines.

Thanks 007.  That's exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for.  cooldude

I'll do a search for Custom Chrome risers and see what I find.
