I'm curious if anyone has mounted a cup holder similar to the shown in the website below.

http://www.amazon.com/Amarine-made-Stainless-Adjustable-Folding-Holders/dp/B0097YH972/ref=pd_rhf_se_p_img_4

If so could you please share how it was done. Any other holders like this one that is better IYO?

I have found this to be a great looking and practical coffee/water bottle holder.

I tried it..
no matter what you hang out there like bottle water.. It will get warm, if you go with coffee it gets cold.

But if you want to try this might do the trick... $5 and clamps to the handle bars...
Its made for bicycles, but I see them all the time at motorcycle shows for $20 each.

Don't spend a lot of money,  I got one from walmart that's made for a bicycle.  Mounts perfectly on the handle bars. and looks great.  Made out of brushed aluminum rod works perfectly.  it's saved my but plenty of times on hot rides. similar to this,

Get a "Yeti" S/S Vacum cup available at Academy Sports, - $29.95 & also Bass Pro, etc. and I suppose also on line. Get the small one. It fits my Kuryakyn no problem.

Hot or cold, will maintain for hours. Love it.

This is what I use, every ride, every time. Been on since I owned my bike and still looks as new. Some like those big huge bulky cup holders, I do not. I only drink and carry bottled water and some frozen bottles in the saddle bag, or refill along the ride. I use mine to prevent dehydration in Florida, not as a drink of choice luxury cup holder. If that fits your bill, its a good looking holder and it's currently on sale. It has a koozy built into it.

I had one of those swivel holders like that.  It dumped more bottles of water on the highway than I care to remember.  It was OK for short containers but any tall bottle would go bye bye.

I bought a Barefoot Willies holder and have been very happy with it ever since.

Every time I think about a mounted drink I then think I should stop if I need a drink.

I had one of those fancy chrome swivel holders, and every time I would put a plastic bottle in it, it would swivel upside down and dump the bottle on the ground. It looked good, and if you drink from cans, just the ticket. Otherwise, not so good cooldude

Agree.  (not really a safety thing, but)

I always carry water IN the bike, and about every time I stop, I take a big drink or three (out of habit if not need) (passing a kidney stone once is reason enough to hydrate for the rest of your life).  And there's pee stops and gas stops.  And while I rarely chew gum any other time, I almost always do riding (spearmint taste prevents drymouth).  I've never much thought of drinking while riding... except on tank to tank freeway trips.  And it gets hot here in summer, but not FL hot that often.

I think in FL, you need the cup holder to pour it on your head, face and neck at stoplights.  Sip some too.

Here is what I do, for short rides I carry bottle water in the saddle bag in a soft sided cooler.

On log rides that I am driving tank to tank, I am using camel back (sabre model)

If I have to fill it up along the way, I find a sandwich shop that has free drink refills so I can
re-fill with ice... Or a gas station that has a drink machine... it keeps my back cool while the ice melts.
I have the hose close by to when I need a drink of water.. Never put anything but water in your camel back.. Leave gator aid and other drinks to a plastic bottle.

hope this helps..

never used one you speak of and might consider purchasing, but besides the walmart bicycle holder,  this is the next cheapest and as others say, is very well made.  If you get to IA anytime or not it may be cheaper to ship from this store:  http://www.jpcycles.com/search/search?Ntt=cupholder&N=2758217&Ntk=All

I bought 2, one for each handlebar, so I can do double fisted drinking - soda pop or water of course.  cooldude

Have held up the past 3 years with some very heavy large sized McD's styrofoam soda pop drinks they never have broke or budged.

For 20 bucks each, hard to beat.  Barefoot willies even guarantees free replacement if they break.  I too was afraid they would break at the clamp, but if cranked tight onto the handlebars, they won't budge.  Even came with the black foam insert if needed for smaller drinks.

I was at the IA store and saw them for 20 bucks figuring that was 4-5 bucks cheaper than the barefoot willie's main store, so bought one.  Then, I went back the next day before I left the area since can never have too many drink holders especially if have a passenger on back.  It clears the I/S gas tank by about 1/2" is all when mounted correctly,  but works fine when turning the handlebars fully left to right.  Is not chromed, but my I/S is all black so matches nicely and is the 2nd cheapest cup holder around that I found.
