I did get a "special" thanks today. Had a dr. appt., a followup on the epidural last week and one of the nurses I had been kidding around with over the last few weeks paused while doing the paperwork. Said "hey, today's Veterans Day, are you a vet?" Yes dear! She said "well John Boy, thanks for your service" and gave me a big kiss on the cheek. The other gal at the desk doing the scheduling said in a real dry and wry manner...."kinda makes you want to reup, doesn't it?" I told her if they ever recruited us old guys they would put us on the front line. We'd have to fight 'cuz we're too old to run. The whole place busted out laughing including those still in the waiting room.
