I'm about to install a set of Cobra 6 into 6 pipes, on my 1999 Valkyrie Interstate. I've looked at various jet kits, from different manufacturers. I'm also installing a K&N air filter, in the stock airbox. I figured that folks on here have done these mods, and can help me out with some good information. I'm in North Carolina, so climate conditions are mild, with humidity going towards the high side. I would really like to nail this the first time around, as far as main jet size, pilot jet size, whether or not to drill the slides, replace the springs, etc., are concerned. I would greatly appreciate any helpful information on this.

search for my posts about what factorypro.com did to get back to stock HP.

I wouldn't use a K&N lets in too much dirt, oem is fine and lasts much longer than the industry change out of 12k miles like change your oil at 3k miles. nothing but bunk

I have Cobra pipes with a K&N filter and stock jets.  It runs perfect, as strong as any  other Valkyrie I have ridden or stronger.  I went with the K&N to correct a rich running condition and I think it restored some to most if not all the ponies lost with the Cobra pipes.  140,000 miles and still runs tight, no using of any oil between changes, no smoke, pulls hard and runs smooth.

I would go with the pipes and aircleaner, and see what happens.  If the plugs look rich or lean, then at lest you have a starting point

So... 98Valk, what did you do in the end? Did the combo of stock Jetting and a K&N filter give smoot running with your new Cobra six into six pipes? I am ordering a set of pipes soon.
