Did I miss the full route and agenda? I just scrolled through, but only saw the hotel in AL and the Naval Museum.... any other POIs and routes/timelines?

The Naval Air Museum is something I'll be going to after everyone heads for home. It's not part of Smokin Joes plans.

No agenda , no routes , no timelines... We'll be in Auburn , Alabama on Friday night 12/26 . Saturday night should find us in the St. Joe , Florida area. Not many motels in St.Joe so it should be easy to find us. No plans whatsoever we are just taking a ride and will go wherever that ride takes us....If you want to hook up with us the best place will be in Auburn,Alabama on Friday night that's the only place that has a plan for this ride.

I called the motel in Auburn , Alabama this morning and we have ( 12 ) rooms rented for Friday night 12/26 Everyone ride safe ... Merry Christmas .... See y'all Friday evening we plan to stay as far as possible away from Atlanta,Georgia on the way down from The Great State Of Tennessee . I thinking it will be dark thrity when we arrive. Rooms still available if anyone else wants to join us . The motel for us all to get hooked up at on Friday 12/26 is listed below. Be sure to say you are with " The Joe May Ride " so we can get grouped together at the motel. Please post back to this thread if you did make reservations and plan on being there. University Inn 129 North College St. Auburn, Al 36830 ( 334 ) 821-4632

Saturday night at 6.25pm
Look to the NW and look for the moving light in the sky.
It will be the International Space Station.
It will disappear in the SE and be visible for about 5 minutes.

That's a huge airplane. My father in law was a flight engineer on P5Ms (VP45) for several years. He told me that they've changed engines at sea on floating platforms. The big green tank you see on the main gear was a floatation tank. The landing gear weren't kept with the airplane, they were tethered to a buoy at the seadrome. When the airplane landed, it taxied up to the buoy and according to my father in law, the low man jumped into the water and pinned the gear into receptacles in the fuselage and then they taxied up on to the ramp. In the same building, they have the Truculent Turtle, a P2V Neptune that the Navy broke several distance records. In the mid 40's, it flew non-stop from Perth Australia to Columbus Ohio. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, my dad was showing me the finer points of the airplane from his days with P2Vs while in VP7. -RP

Exit 293 off I-75... We are coming down Hwy 411 out of Tennessee and meeting Tom and Bill at Hwy 411 & I-75 . Wimp claims there is a Quickie Market on the east side of I-75 here.

Hello all, I just wanted to say that for my first ride with you, it was a blast. I really enjoyed the comraderie, the riding, and the oysters ... Once we FINALLY found them. I appreciate being welcomed into the group so freely. Y'all are awesome and I look forward to hooking up with all of you again soon. I hope everyone made (or makes) it home safe and dry! Home safe with a steenkin cold. Just 1,372 miles - lightweight. Thanks whoever was the carrier A large time was had and a special thanks to Flask and Bill - woo frickin hoo!. Rode home cross country from Montgomery and got misplaced in a small town. Rider on a 1500 Wing asked where we were headed. It was Hal who'd met up with the Wild Bunch in Cartersville last Friday. He escorted us to the right road and we zoomed onwards, Thanks Hal.

Small Small world. Got home late yesterday afternoon from Sherwood Ark. got up this morning and decided to go for a ride on the Wing. Ran across Britman and his riding partner in a parking lot looking at a Map, Lead them to Newsite Al. I turned and they headed toward Atlanta. Always nice to run into folks on the road. Glad y'all had a safe ride on to Atlanta, always glad to be of service.
