I've got a Gyrl with a set on RAGNAR cut pipes and truck stacks.

It sounds good, but I find myself not riding her as much as I should because of the drone and the noise I cause to my neighborhood.  I usually just idle around near my house, but the noise just gets to me.  One of the things I always loved about Valks is stealthiness.

My question (s) is , the bike has a K&N filter, RAGNAR cut and was supposedly jetted by Goody, if I install OEM pipes, should I be concerned about the jetting.

My feeling is re-jetting is done for, or because of, the change of the air intake and exhaust makes no difference.

Is that right?

So what change has been made to the intake ? That K&N doesn't care.
I don't think any jetting was needed, so, putting it back to original should be fine.
A set of original pipes are expensive aren't they ?

OEM exhausts described as really good take-offs were posted on the Classifieds last night... they might
still be available...

Actually, I have a set of OEM's I took off my third Valk cause they are somewhat corroded.  The PO would ride around Long Island in the salt air and throw a tarp over her when he got home.

Gonna paint them black and put them on and get use to them.  I got new tins and tips to put on, so they should look pretty good.  Good enough, any ways.

I got a good set out of FL for $150 with the piggies back then.

I fixed my ragnar exhaust with a set of these.....

And a set of Grumpy tips.  Drone gone.  Sounds great with a nice deep growl without all of the noise.

I like that suggestion.  Do you NEED the Grumpy tips?  I like the look of them but my truck stacks are slash cut, I didn't think Grumpy's tips would work with them?

No.  But they do dress up the rear of the exhaust tips really nice.

However, that said, and regarding drone.....drone is the exhaust resonating inside the exhaust tip/can on the way out to the back of the exhaust.  That's why mother Honda put the piggies on there in the first place....to get that exhaust out to the back of the exhaust tip so that it wouldn't resonate in there.

Anything that you can add to break up that resonance helps to reduce, or eliminate drone.  A set of Grumpy tips helps in that regard.

Hook,

Check with Mark T  www.horseapple.com   He has a couple ways to handle this issue.

You can purchase piggies and use an exhaust adhesive and a couple screws to end the drone.

Or send your exhaust to him and have it modified so you can have it mild or wild.
