A lot has been said for and against the new Valkyrie. I have not seen any comments on the instrument cluster. For the people that have the new Valkyrie, do you like or dislike the Speedometer/Tach cluster?

I like it.
I've not had a problem ever reading it, even in bright sun.
Brightness is adjustable.
There is not a bothersome delay to the tachometer or speedometer display like some early electronic instruments had.

I like it a lot. It works day or night and it is easy to read. The display is not cluttered and operating the buttons works with gloves on. I do wish there was a GPI but I admit that is needed much less on a torque-monster like the Valkyrie than on a smaller bike. I just like to know what gear I am in because sometimes I forget. I suppose I would also like a digital coolant gauge. I've never come close to overheating but I still like knowing what is going on. Adding a coolant gauge and GPI would make the cluster more cluttered but I bet there would be a way to add them without making it too busy.

I did experience some scratching to the bezel that I covered in this message on another forum:

Overall, I really like the instrumentation.

I think its ok, like the bar for rpm, with all that is there would have been nice to have a gas guage or self canceling turn signals. Its better than Ive had on other bikes esp the 1998 valkyrie I had. like anything some things you have to live with on any bike, or change when after market stuff catches up.I put after market driving lites on mine rather than $350 for hondas I got the honda wire harness and other led lites for $20 each. All in all so far so good. Ready to ride this coming season.

;)for the record... I think they all have gas gauge, and the 2014 "deluxe" models have self canceling turn signals.

EDIT - I meant to say "ABS" models  instead of "deluxe" models.  I found out "deluxe" is what they call the upgraded F6B's, but not the upgraded F6C's.

You only get self-cancelling blinkers on ABS models, because they use the wheel rotation sensors to determine if you have rolled through the turn. My "full-size" Gold Wing has the self-cancelling blinkers and they are okay. They sometimes turn off too early, say decelerating from speed to make a tight turn. They turn off before the turn!
