By popular demand, you are invited to another Bust Your Knuckles or Spit and Shine party.

The main lot is gravel so pull in carefully and park on the pad or in the bay.

I will be at the shop by 8am. I have a fair selection of basic tools, pan for oil changes, parts washer, waxes, cleaners and microfibers.
I have one lift, a lift adapter, a stand, creeper, stool and a few chairs.

I have no specialty tools such as a D tool or Jap Phillips Head screwdrivers yet, so bring what ya got.

I had water, Coke and DP last time. The sodas were hardly touched so if you have a request let me know I am happy to stock whatever anyone will drink.

The plan last time was to ride out to the new Flying Saucer at Ray Hubbard shortly after noon for some lunch. That plan still works for me. Bratwurst and Beer can't be beat and the burgers are pretty good too.

I plan to be there after I greet the troops at DFW Airport.  I can't miss that because I have been taking my dad there every Sunday for over two years now and he looks forward to it.

BTW, if we do one at the shop after the weather cools a bit, I am all for cranking up the grill and the smoker or the fryer and making a whole day of it.

Baron,

I think we are gonna make a lunch ride this time. When the weather cools a bit we can grill or smoke. I thnk we had all had about enough of the heat and were ready for AC and cold drinks last time.

I would not expect it to be really pleasant till October for hanging about all day.

Maybe I should make a poll for possible options.

September-Smoked Pork Butt or Chickens
October- Grilled Bratswurst and German Beers
November-Cajun Fried Turkey

What do ya think?

I have a hacksaw (slow, but deliberate, but slow) and a saws-all (fast, but violent), but no rotozip.  We can probably make those work with a followup of cross-cut file, single-cut file, and sanding block.  Thoughts???

Hey Vermithax,

I'm going to bring my new F6BANGER master cylinder LEDs in yellow with the plan to wire them with the front running lights/turn signals.  I know you've been down the road before and would appreciate any input/advice you can provide.

Thanks

Now, if we only had an electrical engineer with a new MBA to assist...   Wink

thanks, guys.  on behalf of rose... she's looking forward to trimming that windshield down.  knowing her, she'll choose the fast, but violent, tools.  Smiley  hopefully we'll both be there.

I'll be there late, probably between 11 and 11:30, but I did my wrenching today.  I finished converting my rear turn signals to running lights, brake lights, and turn signals.

This is the second bike I've done.  Here's the basic process: http://people.delphiforums.com/BARNETTDH/taillights.htm

The Valk was a little more complicated because I retrofited the stock rear turn signals to 3 wire sockets instead of just buying different turn signals and mounting them.

Chris,

Thanks again for hosting the Wrench Party and it was great seeing everyone.  I took some pictures but they are mixed up with the "Welcome Home A Hero" I did in the morning with my dad so feel free to browse through them at the link below.

I'm pretty sure I can speak for all of us when I say what a fun day we all had playing Valkyrie!

Thanks to Ghillie for hosting, to everyone who helped others get things accomplished, and to everyone who was able to get out - especially first-timers 007 and Fenton (handle TBD - Fenton from Connecticut is just too long  Wink).

A special thanks to Baron for sharing his gentlemanly father, aka Trouble Maker, with us for several hours.   cooldude

L to R: Dave, godfire, Thalas'shaya, Vermithax, MotoRose, 007, Ghillie, Fenton, Baron, Trouble Maker, and Valkpilot.
Ghillie and Valkpilot are partially hidden in the pic.  Wanderer is hiding behind the camera.

October is a "Saturday" month and its Wrench Party is scheduled for Saturday 3 October.  That's the day before the DFW Ride For Kids.  It's also the same day as the last opportunity to attend a DFW Ride For Kids Volunteer Training meeting.  So, if you're planning on Wrenching AND Volunteering next month, please attend the Volunteer Training meeting 7:30 pm Thursday 1 October at the Springhill Suites in Grapevine.
