...of JC's (YODA MASTER's) project bike.

Nearly 3 years ago JC picked up a Standard-cum-Tourer and decided to repaint it.  (JC is a firm believer that motorcycles should come in a variety of colors as long as they are black.) While the tins were off, he tore it down further and blacked out the engine block.  Quite a while ago, we got the engine and radiator back in the beast and then...nothing.  He got distracted by other Valk purchases and both of us got distracted by stuff like riding to San Diego.

I watched Young Frankenstein last night, so I'm inspired!   It's time to bring the beast back to life.

If you'd like to help, we'll be working at JC's this Saturday.  Provided he didn't throw out any parts or fasteners in one of his fits of obsessive tidiness, it should be an erector set project: No fixes, just assembly.

Chime in here, so we can get you address and time info.

Count me in, too.  Sounds like fun.  Forecast says chilly, but sunny.

How late I am depends entirely upon how early you guys get started, but I'll be there as soon as I can get moving.

I'll get the football and special tools to you in advance.   cooldude

Pfffft.  Where are your priorities, man, if I can still refer to you as such?!?  Never forget, you've got to treat 'em rough and make 'em like it.

(Let me know how that works out for you.)

Buzz did that when he referred to her as "the woman".  Just saying.  No wonder Liz calls ME pumpkin.

We are celebrating my daughter's birthday on Saturday but not until 4PM. I should be able to help out until around 2 PM so that I can get back home and get ready for her event. Yoda master, I would like to bring my friend (Edgar Serrano) if that is O.K. with you. He said that he could be the official photographer for the resurrection. It will be good to get to see everyone again. Please send address and time for the resurrection.    Smiley

My plans for attending the wrench party fell apart Saturday morning. Did anyone take photos of the resurrection? Did you guys finish before the day was done?   coolsmiley

Tom, JC, and I started around 9 and were pretty much there for the duration.  Baron showed up and helped along with Disco, who arrived digging the 2nd shift sleep boogers out of his eyes.

We went from rolling engine to something that looked remarkably like a motorcycle.  Both fenders lights, etc, assembled and installed,  rear brake pads put in position and caliper bracket pinned in place, front brake calipers completely reassembled (taken all the way apar t to paint.) and installed, 3 spare circuits plus ground wire run from right side cover to headlight bucket in flexible conduit, lower water crossover installed...

Doesn't seem like that much now, but given the weather and the jaw flapping and some very distracting tamales, we did OK.  The goal, my goal at least, was to get all the three-handed stuff done so that JC can chip away at the rest of it as he gets time.

P.S.  Is it a bad thing when you realize the right rear shock is missing and no one who worked on the bike before can ever remember there even being a right rear shock?

Alright then!  This may be the birth of a 'single-side-arm' Valkyrie Shocked

Oh. Wait a minute.  The NEW Valk is a single-side-arm...   Embarrassed
