Quick question on the original front fork springs - What is the proper orientation of the spring?

a)  Is the spring installed with the tighter wound spring end on top?

or

b)  Is the spring installed with the tigher wound spring end face the bottom?

Thanks for any help on this.

Mechanically it makes no difference. Some reccomend the tighter at the bottom to avoid internal fork noise from a hard bounce (potholes).

Thanks, -being that I live in the pothole capital of the nation (Michigan) - I will put the tighter coils toward the bottom.

The Chilton and Honda repair books say that that you put the springs in with the tighter wound coils going in last. That would make them on the top where the caps screw in.

so far that makes sense to me being upside down forks ( i not research this but my comment is based on common sense) your results may vary
