And, these stupid people reproduce.................

Ran in to a few cases like that in California.       Stupid is stupid & should keep it's ole hole shut till they understand the signs, rules & etc.

Back then it was some of the Asian's also.

They really take offense to things quicker than the Black's.

All of the idiots are still trying to put the bar owner in the wrong. I would have loved to handle some of the "complaints".

I understood what he said.  He didn't say people OF color, or anyone OF color.  That's what you get when people don't understand the english language.  Stupid.

Uh... Joe... that's club colors.   Roll Eyes  You're right, though, the people the sign was meant for know what it means.  "Jane" really doesn't  belong in that bar.

I last saw a "No Coloreds" sign when I was about eight-yrs-old, that's half a century ago.  I'll bet Jane has never seen one outside of the movies.

I never saw a 'no coloreds', but I do recall gas stations in TX with separate 'colored' restrooms.
And the balconies in movie theaters were reserved sometimes for 'colored only'.
This was in the early 60's.
In the 70's I saw several 'no colors' bars, in northern CA.  I think there was a lot of that back then and may still be it looks like.

I remember seeing "no coloreds " or "whites only" signs,  at a couple bars and restaurants in rural TX and AR.   I recall that Sears and Roebuck had separate restrooms and water fountains.  I don't recall it being any big deal when that practice ended (in those days women were not welcomed in pool halls or barber shops).
The first place I saw "no colors" was at a bar owned by the former President of a large motorcycle club.  There are a couple such places in Corpus Christi and they welcome  bikers.  I suspect the problem was locals messing with the patch holders since there are no competing clubs this deep in TX.

Yes, the old Dollhouse. I think it may be the only place BD owns, now.  "No colors" at the old Red Vest, near Everhart Rd, too.
I honky tonked all over town, including the place where the Whataburger is on Ayers. The Ponderosa was a favorite before it was renamed Ranch House. My Bluff hangout was Renete's (originally Captain's Mast).
Bat's Pub was a hang-out when I lived in town but I managed to find myself in Mi Tierra, La Amistad, Majestic and some other places I had no business being.

There is no way to reply to that that doesn't come off as racist.

I was at a barbecue last night and heard a Mexican tell a mixed blood girl she was a "Chiconkey" (chicano and honkey). A black congressman called Gov. Perry a racist when he wouldn't buy into Obama's stimulus hustle. They just confirmed a SC Justice who thinks Hispanics deserve special treatment.

Please, don't shock me by coming off as "racist".   Grin

And we will confirm a supreme court justice who says a wise latina woman will make a better justice than a white male.

I know what that sign means. I have looked at them before and wondered if they ever caused confusions. Figures.

From you can sue anybody for anything file: Woman in Chicago is suing a zoo because the dolphin splashed water on her, causing her to slip, which she maintains is malicious on the part of the zoo. The woman alleges that the zoo is willfully training the dolphins to splash the side walk and visitors.  No signage warns that someone might slip. She ofcourse slipped.

Some people just get upset about all sorts of things.

Lady claimed her mom  slipped in a store Jill worked in.  Jill went to fill out accident report and found that woman and daughter were already banned from the store for trying the same hustle a couple years earlier.  The Bonilla law firm says "there's no such thing as a frivolous law suit".  Oh, yes, they're "civil rights" lawyers, too.
