Looking to order some parts, and Partzilla has (2) "Bush, Slider" part numbers listed for item #10.  Did a google, and both parts come up as valid - in that someone on ebay is selling both...  Grin

Any idea as to the difference?  Called my dealer, and they (surprisingly) have something in stock  Shocked  They have the 51415-MCH-003 (non Showa?).

BUT: She also indicated that both sets of numbers (Showa and non Showa) are apparently not valid.

I guess I could take the forks off, then take apart, then take the existing "Bush, Slider" parts down to the counter, and see if they match the ones she has.  If a match, I'm good.  If not, then order the "other" version... Roll Eyes  Why does this have to be such a pita???  tickedoff

Just took a quick look at HDL and they show the 54145-MCH-003  twice and don't differentiate if one of them is SHOWA or not.   crazy2   Honda parts numbering can get confusing, but I would work with the above number. FWIW  Good luck!  Roll Eyes

I keep a set of these on hand and I'm showing the part id as 51415-MCH-003.  Their Genuine Honda parts, made in Japan.

Honda owns SHOWA from what I've heard, so maybe their just adding brand id to the new number.

I always replace both the slider bushings and the guide bushings at the same time.  I believe most do.  The manual is just slightly confusing on this point, as it states;

"Fork slider bushings
Visually inspect the fork slider and slider bushings.
Replace the bushings if there is excessive scoring or scratching, or if the teflon is worn so the copper surface appears on more than 3/4 of the entire surface."

I'm going with the sentence should read "Visual inspect fork slider and GUIDE bushings"  with a typo in the manual, and I can't remember if I had wear on the guide AND slider bushings or not.

For the extra $30.00 or so, I'm all ready there, so why not.

Thanks gents,
I had planned on replacing both (sliders and guides), as well as Racetech springs and gold valves.  Just need to get the right parts in hand b4 I tear her down.

As we seem to have two votes for the MCH 003, and that's the version the dealer has in stock, I'll go with the consensus.  But when I get it apart, if they're different, I'm not gonna be happy...  coolsmiley

My 1999 Interstate front fork tubes are stickered Showa whereas my 2000 Standard are not. The stickers are on the inside of the outer down tube right next to the fender. Perhaps there is a difference between the two?
