The bike needs new forks, front fender and an engine guard, a new front tire, a mirror, and the hard bag needs paint.  Not sure about the frame, gotta get that checked too.  Insurance adjustor should be by this week to take pictures, but at least I got the bike home in my garage.
My back is killing me, but the stitches are out of my face.  I expect a full recovery, but it hurts now and the percoset is tearing my guts up.
All that aside, I am very aware of how extremely lucky I am.  No reason I was able to walk away from an accident like that without some serious intervention by my guardian angels.
I'm starting physical therapy this week, and I've seen a massage therapist a couple times so far.  Not much to do for a broken vertibrae, just let it heal...
Thanks for the concern and well wishes, means a lot.

Lil Bull,

(I'm shaking my head at this moment)  Your one lucky "son of a gun"!!!!

Hey man, I am glad to hear the positive report.  I must agree I am so glad you were able to walk away from what could have been a rough day for all of us.  Your a great guy and we hit it off so well in Frisco.  It started before you were even out in the parking lot. I was visiting with your dad and we got to talking about flying helicopters and planes and then here you come out.  Lil Bull, it was great times bro and look to making many more with ya.  I am very thankful that you are in once piece and functionable.  Many folks don't have the opportunity to walk away from such a collision.

Broken vertibrate doesn't sound like it would be easy to handle.  I remember getting pinch nerves in my back and how that hurts I can not start to understand the pain that you must be in and that percoset sucks bro... I had thirty two staples in my stomache when I was 20 and my girlfriend at the time told me to tell the nurse I had a headache and she would give me some "good stuff".  Well I took some percoset on an empty stomache and boy was that a trip!  I started to hallucinate that I was in a card board box and flying over the ocean and the waves were hitting the bottom of the box!  coolsmiley   Yeah... I was on a trip alright.. I woke up to vomitting and I couldn't sit up and it felt like 32 staples had just popped out of me....  So be careful with that stuff....  I didn't take anymore of that stuff the rest of the time that I was in... I would rather deal with the pain....

Enough of that.. I am just glad you are recovering and sounds like the bike will recover as well...  Great report and I know there wasn't much you could have done to prevent the accident so just count your blessing and I hope you consider protecting your noggin with a bucket! crazy2

Keep in touch brother....  cooldude

Dont know how I missed this thread.........glad to hear you will live to ride again.  Be ready to have the bike totalled, Heavy bike......steel frame.......hard front impact..........it will be as big a miracle you walking away if the frame isint bent.  Look close at the welds near the neck, cracked paint is trouble

Sorry to hear that Sir.  Embarrassed

I hope the end result works to be minor in his favor.

Read the post earlier and said a prayer. Glad to hear you're able to get around. Word about the pills. Took a bad spill in 91 and broke some ribs in my back, & cracked vertabra. Took one pain pill then decided to ride it out. Then in 07 had a wreck, banged up knee, took Ibuprophen like the Doc said, now I read where it can cause heart problems. I went to the ER 10 days after the wreck with heart problems. Look carefully at the side effects. As for the pain, it will subside, trust me, been there numerous times with other injuries. Two years later I still have heart problems.
