I recently tried to remove my seat to charge my battery. The key will not turn enough to release the latch. I am afraid to break the key off in the switch. Any suggestions? Any other way to get to the seat release?

Mine did the same thing. The key would turn part way but would not unlatch. My cable was rusted. If you remove the left side cover and take out the bolts holding the radator resevior you can used a long flat screw driver to unlock the latch. Its not easy.

The cover that holds the key cylinder is not easy to get off or back on. It however very flexable. I removed my cable and shot PB blaster to free it out. Then brake clearner to clean it out. Then I used 3 in 1 oil to lube it back up. I also ordered another cable but after two years it is still working well so I have not replaced it yet.

I hope this helps,
