I've done this too (18" tips).   cooldude    (Much nicer stock that the OE tips)

Note;  When brand new, I polished the inside for an inch or two on the bottom, but that was stupid.  However, it is nice to keep the flat cut, nicely chromed edges clean. If you let them go too long, it is hard to bring them back.

Also FYI, it is easy to scuff the bottom rear of the tips departing steep aprons of a gas station, leaning into the turn while still on the apron.  And if backing down with the tire touching the curb, you will almost always clear the curb on both sides, but it is easy to lean the left bottom tip on top the curb, when putting it over on the side stand.  And I have 13" shocks.

Now, all you have to do, is to finish them off with a set of Grumpy's tips.

Looks nice.  On my to-do list.  I have both full 36" straight stacks and 18" turndown tips on the shelf.  Planning on using the full stacks.  Couple other things on the Valk list but brakes on the Wing will come first.

Could a section of truck stack be easily attached to a stock standard exhaust to extend it 12"?

If so, I am told that I can extend the piggies by brazing 3/4 diameter copper pipe attached to the piggies with a slightly swaged standard coupler. Is this correct?

I would want to re-attach the stock tip after inserting the extension.

Would extending the piggies as described affect the carburation. I now have .38 jets installed.

Any idea as to how this would sound compared to stock?

If carburatiion is affected, can I avoud it by not extending the piggies?

Need to do this to extend exhaust beyond the bumper of my Lehman Trike. The sound bouncing around inside the trike body has always been less than desirable. Why Lehman did it this way is beyond me.

Can anyone suggest a better way of accomplishing this.

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Interstate pipes have longer piggies than STD/Tourer pipes. Interstate
pipes are quieter. I like  Smiley ...

Those stacks are about 3'' longer than OEM. Not sure the 36'' will give a longer exhaust than just the 18''.
Sure is much work. Does it worth it? Not sure

Louis,

To show the images within your message, go to the Photobucket page that you linked to for the pictures, look at the right side of the page where it says, "SHARE LINKS", then click just below that where it says "IMG".  Then come back to your message posting area, right click, and select "paste".  The stuff it pastes into the message will allow your image to show.

I have truck stacks on my bike and the one I am re-building will get them as well. I like the looks of your bike. I used turn-downs on mine. I made an extension arbor for a holesaw (5/8?) that just fit inside the piggies and cut the baffles out one at a time until I got the sound where I wanted it.

Subject change , why is your tire foot-print (wear) only on the right side. My best guess is it is a Dunlop.  I have seen that pattern as a start of the end. I am not trying to start a war , but keep an eye on the tire wear. One tire we sent to Dunlop , they said the bike was out of alaignment. I have since replaced three more with the same symptoms.
