Did you have to switch to a higher octane? I have the parts just havent done the ECT yet.
You might want to at least consider a mid-grade fuel. On all Valk models.
It's the risk of non-audible pre-ignition pinging that can also damage albeit not so readily.
Remember, the I/S ICM advance being utilized with this mod is [I think] 2* (maybe 4*) above that of the Standard/Tourer models.
I did the ETC mod with pot and integrated clutch switch on a '97 Tourer with an I/S ICM. I tend not to use it unless I have a higher grade fuel or an additive like Techron in the tank.
I've been using about an 1/2 ounce of Techron/gal. lately. It clears up an idle drop problem I have when the engine is heat soaked. Funny it acts like an electrical issue, but the Techron eradicates it. Premium fuel alone doesn't do the trick, but regular & Techron does. It goes back to crap immediately if I don't dump some Techron in. I'll be cursed... At least I know my pilot jets are staying clear. That I'm sure 'cause I recently installed new 38's.
