I've heard that removing the air filter covers is a real pain.  Can anyone offer any guidance on how to remove these without destroying the plastic clips?

I'm referring to the the piece that has the red Honda logo.  On the 2014 Valkyrie.

It's not hard to get into the air filter. There's a bunch of stuff to remove,
just don't get in a hurry.

I have the manual, and referred to it as I went.

I made a plan, an order of stuff to remove, by looking at these
power commander guys do it:

I broke one clip, or "push pin" on the upper cowl, but once
I got the idea of how they work, I didn't break anymore.

On some, you push in the middle and then pull the whole thing out,
on others you pull out the middle and the pull the whole thing out.
The pull out ones are called "button heads".

Honda wants 3 or 4 dollars each for replacements. I got these on Amazon,
a box of 80 or so for less than $20... there's numerous different sizes in there,
some are perfect for the Valkyrie.
