Finally picked up a .380 Ruger LCP today at the local gun show. Check out the lock that Ruger supplies with the pistol!! Holy cow!! The lock weighs more than the gun!  Shocked

BTW, the fit and finish is a whole lot better than my Kel-Tec P-3AT while size and weight are almost the same. If it shoots as good as it looks, I'm gonna likes it!

I know a few of you have one and look forward to your feedback

Are you able to get 380 ammo there? It's not to be had in our part of the world. (southwest Virginia)

I have a Bersa 380

It's getting hard to find, but I bought 500 rounds back before Christmas and have been sitting on it.

That lock looks like you run it down through the grip when the mag is out and the slide is back.

While at the show, I saw a Sig 238. This is a .380 built on a 1911 type frame with night sights. It had rosewood grips and was a piece of art. It is the most beautiful .380 I have ever seen. The thing felt perfect in my hand and was just beautiful....show price $800..

I was staring at it and my wife said, if you like it, get it. I was like...  Shocked then  Cheesy then   :'(

I'm not paying $800 for a .380...but man was it nice!

I was thinking of going myself but it's bad timing on the wallet...have a contractor doing some work for us.  Sad  I want to pick something up that will have no record of the transaction....just in case. The show wouldn't be the place, but I'll get something sooner or later. I just don't trust the direction things are going for us right now.

Sweet. Let us know how it shoots. I've got a KelTec .380 too. It carries like a dream. It’s accurate for what it is but it jams frequently. I’ve been thinking a lot about that Ruger and their polymer revolver.

Nice pistol. . . . I've always been partial to Rugers. When the wife and I shot target competion, I used a heavily modified Mark II (she used a Browning.) We still have the guns - of course - but they haven't been out of the safe in years. My Department sent me to the  Ruger Armory School about 10 years ago for our Mini-14.  Ruger ran a nice 'school' and as a bonus, they issued all the attendies a certification good for one Ruger at factory cost. I never used mine, but they said it didn't have an expiration. . . .  I have to say; I'm very fond of Glocks now, so I'll most likely will never use it. Both of my 'carrys' are .40 cal, but we have a 380 tucked away somewhere. . . Are there really places in the country where you can't find certain ammo?  Just curious. It hasn't been an issue here. . . . that I know of any way.

Yes, there are areas where some ammo is difficult to find. 380 has been VERY (almost impossible) hard to find here for almost a year. Sometimes 38 spl and 9mm are hard to find. BUT.......they aren't gonna take our guns away !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is my part of Indiana .380 has been hard to find for quite a while. Pistol and rifle primers have been virtually impossible to find too so reloading isn't much of a help. Looks like obamafear has taken over.

Just to follow up on the ammo supply issue. I attended the gun show yesterday mainly to buy the Ruger LCP. I was thinking in the back of my mind that I had plenty of .380 hollow points back at the house so I didnt shop for any, but is was .40 cal that I had in excess, not .380. When I returned home I discovered that I only had 200 rounds of .380 remaining. Sooooo, knowing that my neighbor was going to the show today, I asked him to pick me up a couple hundred rounds of some "good" .380 hollow points. He showed up this afternoon with four boxes of 102 grain, Remington Golden Sabres. He said..you ain't gonna like the price.. Shocked

He told me that he went to every table at the show looking for "new" .380 hollow points...nobody had any. He said he found some reloads, but not many. There was also some ball ammo available but again, not much. He finally found one vendor that had a few new boxes of Golden Sabres). He bought six boxes, four for me and two for him

Price.... $30 a box,  25 cartridges/box....$1.20 each  Shocked tickedoff The reloads were $25/box

According to vendors, the .380 is the hottest conceal carry round in the country right now and brass is simply not available. Primer availability is also a problem

I use an AMT 380 as CC but I am looking into a Kel-Tec PF9.  I have other Nines and feel it a more common caliber overall, which I am fairly well in stock of.   Does anyone have a PF9 they care to comment on?

I went to a friends of the NRA banquet Sat.  Ended biding and buying a LCR. I had been looking for one and ended up with a really good deal.  I liked the LCP but I would have to set up for a new caliber and I have enough already.

I have a LCP. Real nice pistol. Shoot well,as acurate as a small pistol can be. It does have a little bite about the same as the Kel-tec 380 my dad had.  I have fired less than 100 rounds so far with no failures. Dads Kel-tec failed several times during breakin. Rager also hides real well in a pocket. Mine is one of the early ones so there was a recall on it. Supposedy if could fire if dropped. Rugar sent me a box to send it back in. When it was done they sent it back. Time gone. Less than two weeks. For my trouble then sent me another magazine and two new mag extensions. Very cool.......

I had a Keltec .380.  I ran about 150 rounds through it before I thought I could trust it.  Mine was extremely particular about what ammo was used.  After giving it a good deal of thought, (carry MUST be reliable) I traded it for a like new Smith hammerless Centennial.  The Smith is much more accurate and completely reliable, drawback, bigger and only 5 rounds.  More rounds, I carry my Glock 27.

Mark has had much better luck with the Ruger than I had with the KelTec.
