Unfortunately, the Valk has not been produced in 6+ years and many are thirteen years old  Shocked. Inevitably, 1st, 2nd and 3rd owners are selling this wonderful machine to newbies (at least to the Valk) who don't know much about this semi-unique motorcycle. I think an excellent topic for shop talk would be..... "How to buy a used Valk". We read it all the time on this forum...."I am a new owner, or I'm looking to buy a Valk and would like some tips". The article could outline what to look for and look out for when considering a Valkyrie. Most of us old timers know these things by heart and if we could combine our knowledge, as in a consortium, into a single article, I'm sure that it would be a blessing to newbies and even some of our current members. I would love to help in anyway that I can.....suggestions on how to proceed, or is this a bad idea?

Makes sense to me. It might even help more people than just first-timers.
After I wrecked my first Valk (I didn't really consider anything else other
than another Valk) I was still kind of "addled" (that's Hillbilly fer "loopy-headed")
when I went looking at the one I have now. I wish I'd had a "reminder" as to what
to look at and what ???? to ask. Although it's been a good one, I'm still working
out a few minor bugs.

no explanation necessary Bob. I'm from Alabama and very familiar with the term "addled". Been that way several times myself  Grin

Write it up and post it here for review.  If we get a good article, we'll be happy to put it in shoptalk!

Great Idea, FLAVALK!  I'm looking forward to reading the draft.

Whatever happened to the idea for a FAQ on buying a Valkyrie for us newbies?

Thanks.

How 'bout starting the thread and making it a stickie on the tech board, that way when some one finds a new item that is Caddywhompus (that's redneck for "Out OF Whack") on there bike, they can add it to the list.

They did something similar on the NakedGoldWing forum ....

New2U Bike? Read Me

And their ShopTalk was actually patterned after our ShopTalk

http://www.ngwclub.com/shoptalk/

There is also Randakks Website
