Hi, just wondering if anybody knew of OEM parts list for the Valkyrie. On my boats there ia always one manual that is a repair manual, and then a second book that is just diagrams and parts numbers. Is there one of these out there for the Valkyrie? Hey Guys. There is now. Just though I would share in case any other old farts likes to still use pencil and paper. This is loaded to a google drive and is for the Interstate. Also, all of the parts prices are from http://www.servicehonda.comHope this helps some others out too. I just like having a printed list with me when working on the bike. Here is the link to the pdf. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8u23V5lTEyyQmdVRS01d19rV2c/view?usp=sharing

No parts list book was ever produced (like for my Hog). The on-line fishes are pretty good, and all there is. You have to diddle with them a bit. If you try to copy the schematics, they won't, but if you push the large image button to blow them up (enlarge in a new window), they will, and can be saved to your documents, and/or printed out. But that's just the schematic, not the parts/price list below the schematic. (The copyright police have never come after me either.) I have printed out a number of them as an assist and supplement to the OE service manual, but I never did the whole thing (every page) as I should have. Here's Service Honda's fishe. http://www.servicehondapsn.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=2552271&category=Motorcycles&make=Honda&year=1998&fveh=132665

Thanks guys. I am just used to having the book sitting there with me so I can write down parts numbers as I go to make sure I do not miss anything. Every time I have to come back to the computer I always seem to forget something. I will print a picture of the files and at least will be able to circle what I need to bring back to the computer I guess.

There are many online parts fiche out there. I use Bike Bandit. If I want Honda's part number, so I can see how much my local Dealer will charge, then I use the Honda Direct Line.

I have printed out a number of them as an assist and supplement to the OE service manual, but I never did the whole thing (every page) as I should have. I did that years ago and to tell you the truth, I never use it now. I find using the web sites like "Partzillar" etc, are pretty easy and you can set up a "wish list" they claim will last forever and is printable. I've upgraded to using my Ipad now. I can sit next to the bike and pull up the screen I need to check out whats what. Helps a lot when putting stuff back together also.

I just clicked on the ServiceHonda page you provided and in the graphics is a printer to click on. It goes to the fiche with a large PRINT and that goes to a two page print with the schematic AND parts list.

Thanks. Two heads are always better than one. Now if my printer hadn't taken a dump. (I don't need it as much as I used to either.)

Thanks for the heads up on that parts link. I just finished printing pretty much the entire parts manual. Awesome!!! I am still a little old school. Rather have the notebook beside me while working instead of the iPad. Never broke a notebook when I dropped it!

The same for me. I like hard copies of any research materials. You can have five books open at the same time (if necessary), rather than a single screen. And my computer is upstairs in the house, not out in the bike/tool shed. And the greasy fingerprints just add character to a working library.

Thanks so much for that link guys. I printed out all of the parts lists, and was able to go through all of them last night and mark all the parts that I needed to fix and put this back together, and when I finish, it may even help me identify all the parts I wind up having left over!! I am going to print another set and laminate them and put them in a three ring binder. Then I can just mark what I need with a vis-a-vis pen and wipe it clean when the job is finished. And, not only was the site awesome for printing, their prices seemed pretty darn good also! Thanks twice

You might think about printing or saving the parts list too. A few sites are no longer, have discontinued listing the size & length of the bolts etc.

in the past I had always used honda directline parts but i figured I would give these people a try since their prices are percentage wise a good bit less. However, I got an email from them yesterday saying that I should expect my parts to arrive is 7 - 9 days. Never had to wait that long with direct line. Usually have them in 2 or 3 with them. I would have paid the 30 bucks extra to have them before the next weekend.

Remember that most all (if not all) of our Honda parts sellers do not have most of what we might order in stock (sure, brake pads, filters and usual maintenance items). But not the vast majority of OE bits and pieces, and the older our bikes get, the more stuff is in warehouses and not in stock at the seller.
These OE parts sit in warehouses around the country, and have to be ordered up by our sellers. Sometimes stuff comes to us right from the warehouses, and other times it goes from warehouse to seller to us. The seller does not have personal control of either the warehouse or the shipper(s). You can always order next-day or 2-day, but I never do that, or pay those (terrible) prices.
With this in mind, 7-9 days does not sound unreasonable. And, I am betting if you made the same parts order you just did from five different sellers, the day(s) of arrival of that order would be pretty similar, within a day or two.
I used HDL for years and years with good prices, service and quick delivery. And they price matched anyone (plus 5%) and gave free shipping (if the order was high enough), and had routine sales, and had my complete loyalty. But HDL was sold to others within 2 years ago, they drastically changed their web site (which used to cater to the valk community) and made it drastically harder to use. I wrote and called and complained, and they were polite about it but they didn't care. I have since used Service Honda, but it has been reliably reported that an outfit called ProCaliber has the best prices of anyone. I cannot confirm this, or their shipping times.

Awesome info Jess. I am another one of those that used HDL exclusively. I have done very little with my other Valk in the last three years, so I have not needed parts. My schedule made it much more beneficial for me to just take it to the shop. I was surprised when I got on their web site and navigation was a pain, and there were lots of other manufacturers listed. When I ordered from them in the past I typically had everything in two days. Admittedly my experience with them is probably 3 or 4 years old. I will check out the other company also (pro caliber). I will be needed a good bit to get this new project the way I want it.

Thanks again. Have used BB twice so far and 7-9 days seems to be about right. They did save me 15-20% under the dealer and no tax. Paid frt only once, over $100 is free I think. I'll look at the others next time.

Yes.....ProCaliber out of Washington. Plus any order over $99 gets free shipping. I've comparison shopped with Partszilla, Service Honda, Directline, and Bikebandit. So far ProCaliber beats them all in 99% of the stuff we all use. As an example, the parts I needed to overhaul brakes and master cyl. on my GL1200 project came in $16 less than any of the above name outfits. And....free shipping, which I know some do offer but not all. Check them out, I found some items only varied by 50 cents, but when I had to replace the water pump on the 1200, there was a huge difference. ProCaliber was $13 less than Partszilla, and $35 less than BikeBandit. It's not just prices for an old 1200 either, check out an example for a '98 Valkyre Tourer. I compared prices for a u-joint, something we all use from time to time and here's the result. ProCaliber-$120, Partszilla-$133, BikeBandit-$155. Your choice but I've found Bike Bandit more pricey in just about everything I looked at.

John, I didn't know about this one, http://www.procaliber.com/cartI did some comparison pricing with http://www.partzilla.com/pages/about.htmlAnd your right they beat their prices on everything I checked, and shipping was about 1/2 price. I am going to order something today just to see how fast shipping is from Washington. For me, Partzilla is in GA and I usually get stuff 1-2 days....good for those 'Urgent" parts. Thanks for posting

I went to partzilla, and found that you had to join up to get a shipping quote for an order. I went to procaliber, and thought I would buy an aircleaner for sixteen bux, but they wanted twenty dollars to ship a two pound small box in the 48. zzed28, maybe next time go to your local dealer and see how close they will match the online price. No shipping, and usually the same week. I order Monday, they get there parts by Thursday.

I usually start at Bike bandit to find the part and search the web. Depending on the part and ongoing sales, wind up buying from different stores all the time. Found a great deal on tires at BB, new alternator on Amazon and get brake pads and oil filters from O'Reilly Auto Parts. Depends on how fast you need and how much time you are willing to search for the best deal.
