Need some help from you knowledgeable people. I am trying to buy an Ultimate drivers seat but have been told it will not fit the I/S because of the larger tank. It was originally purchased for a Tourer/Standard. I have a stock three piece seat from a standard and the drivers seat fits my I/S. I guess maybe the Ultimate is shaped differently. Any help greatly appreciated.

Ultimate does make a different seat for the Interstate. There is more padding in the nose for the Standard/Tourer. It will mount if you force it, it will be bunched up in the nose of the seat where it meets the tank.

Thanks Doug, I need to get together with someone that has one and see how it will fit and look. If it is not too bad it will be worth it for the comfort of the rest of the seat. If it bunches up too much will probably be uncomfortable for the crotch. I would rather get one that fits right but I just happened to see this one available. I can't use the one piece for the I/S since my trunk was moved back with the installation of the trike kit. That leaves Patti sitting on the raised part of the passenger seat. I was hoping I could use the passenger portion of a standard/tourer for her and a Ultimate rider part for me.

If it's a good enough buy, a decent upholstery shop could shave the nose a little and restretch the cover for not too much money. The bunching up on the tank would not be real bad, but it will rub the paint on the tank. Might also make it a bit harder to click the seat down in the front mount or turn the key to get it loose.

You can try mine Roger. This weekend is out, I'll be in NPR all weekend working on a house. If it's nice I may ride and have Andrea drive my truck. If you want to ride out there to try it? Personally, I would go with the correct seat you have a nice Trike.

It will work like Doug said, I had a Tourerer Big Boy on mine for 2-3 years before getting one made for the I/S. It does force the nose up a bit so if you get it, I'd add some clear tape on the tank where it makes contact so it doesn't ruin the paint. What model of Ultimate seat is it? I wouldn't buy anyting smaller than the Big Boy, I tried the smaller one first and was really uncomfortable....especially down front. The one I have now is the King Boy and works fine for me. It's not the one in my posting picture, that's built on a Corbin pan...kinda hard.

It's a big boy John. Did you have difficulty getting it to latch or unlatch? If the only problem is rubbing the paint I can handle that like you said. So far this year I have gone through a Corbin and a Leatherman. I also have my original one piece since I am now using a rebuilt one piece I got from Pete. It is a lot more comfortable than my original but not as comfortable as the Ultimate I tried at Inzane. I need to get rid of the Leatherman and my original one piece. I also have a three piece Standard that I hope to use the passenger portion with the Ultimate drivers seat. My trailer looks like a used seat business.

Hmmm....looks like a perfect fit Bert? Looks no different than my fit? Roger I hope I did not give you incorrect information. I was going on fitment info. I have learned from others and have not actually tried it myself on an Interstate.

Roger, I found I had to sit on it a few times to get it to latch....sorta bounce down on it. Do likewise to unlatch. After a short time it sorta took a set and was not any different than any other seat to latch/unlatch.
