I was doing my monthly winter warm up of the valk. The bike was still cold and it had it's normal rough acceleration with the enhancer off. I gave it some enhancer and it smoothed out. I wasn't riding, just idling. When I ride,  the first 10 minutes, the bike runs a bit rough. I wonder if I should leave a little of the enhancer on until it warms up. Have you ever tried it?

No.

If your bike runs rough for 10 minutes until it warms up there is something needing attention.  Using the enricher may mask the problem buts its not a good solution.

Run some techron through
check spark plugs
How old is the Air Cleaner?
check the 18 screws for the intake runners and lines and plugs for vacuum leaks

Sorry to ask something that may be stupid, but I am always trying to learn.  What is an enhancer?  I thought it was a boob job until it was also called an enricher.  Of course, I guess a boob job could do that too.

Ahhhhh.  So that slide is an enhancer or enricher and not a choke!  Got it.

Its not an enhancer.  When you apply what many call the "choke" it makes the mixture RICHER....hence "enricher" I took it that the OP made a typo or maybe the spell checker got him

The idea is the same the classic choke reduces air with makes the mixture RICHER.  Just two ways to skin the same cat

Ha, its been a a lot of months since we been ridding, how quick we forget what all the parts are called. Yea enricher. But I'm saying my valk always stumbles a bit until it warms up. Running anything with a choke, you may need it on until it's warm.  I was running it outside yesterday at 18, so I'm thinking it needed some extra fuel.

Like Chrisj said, if you get some poor running, or stumbling/sputtering at idle, run some carb cleaner through the carbs. Or just change to Chevron with Techron, and let the regular ridding clean it/keep it clean, slowly.

Driving with the "choke" on for a minute maybe.  Ten minutes still says THERES SOMETHING ELSE WRONG.  If you have never tightened the intake runner screws you will freak out how loose they are.

Mine is usually off before it leaves the garage.

Mine only gets the enricher long enought st stay running without it, usually just under a minute. Turn it completly off and let idle for another minute or 2 while I get helmet gloves and sunglasses on then take off. Ride easy for a few miles until bike is up to temp then it is on.

In south Texas, we freeze once or twice a year on average ( don't quote me on those figures ) but you understand we don't have very cold weather. I usually wont ride below 50 degrees. I usually start with the enrichment activated just so the engine starts quickly, but my bike starts well without using the choke, and It usually idles a little slower than when warmed up, but stays running right away with the choke off.  Firefighter

I will ride with the choke on for less than a mile.  BUT, I do not wait a minute or two for the bike to warm up.  I figure the engine can warm up as I am riding, so long as I take it easy the first mile or so.

Do you ride with the enhancer on?

Yes, for about a half mile when I use it.  I once made a mistake and rode with it on for 150 miles.  I regretted having done that but it did no noticeable damage to the bike.  That was about a hundred thousand miles back.

If your Valkyrie seems to need it for ten minutes that would be an issue.  I'm guessing you didn't specify the amount of time accurately.

Willow, you maybe right, might be a few miles. I'd guess like a choke being on, running rich causes no harm. Just don't run lean.  I think the bike was cold, hadn't run for two months and the carbs had a lot of sea foam in them. I got it warmed up and it smoothed out. I'll have to the get it running a bit more often.
