Checked through the old archives and the new board for shock info on the Interstate. I've got Progressive 412's with HD springs but my wife says she gets hard knocks going over heavy bumps. We've tried several settings but she still gets wacked on bumps I don't feel that much up front. If momma ain't happy, nobody's happy.... She's talking GL-1800's....

What's my next step without spending a small fortune? I'm going back to the Darkside and trying lower air pressure in the rear tire next but have a feeling she still ain't gonna be too happy.

BTW, here's the options that I've found so far:
Works shocks
Progressive 440's
Progressive Air shocks

Any more options out there?

I have a pair of low mileage 440's, 13", chrome that I just took off my I/S and replaced with the same thing only 12" in black. I live on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada and am advertising them locally first. I'm going to put them in our "classified" in a few days. I have no idea what a reasonable price is yet, nor do I know what shipping costs would be. I found the best price from   phatperformanceparts.com  with free shipping in the US.

I have a friend who is removing his Prog air shocks this week. They will be for sale soon if you want to try buying a used set.

Appreciate the offers! I did some more research and even got desperate and checked Harley forums. Ordered a set of Works this evening. Ordered a set of Steel Trackers with DRS and ARS after reading about warrentees that both companies had and actual service. The Works set was a little bit less expensive than the comparable Performance 440's ones with a HD spring. The Works people were very patient after several phone calls and put up with a ton of questions.

Hope I made the right decision!!

Just put that combination on my Standard. They are GREAT! Can't compare them to the 440's but I doubt the latter could be better.

I say get momma a GL1800 then you can share the miles between two Bikes and have the best of both worlds.

Right off the bat at face value (as many of my friends think, I been trying to recruit some to GL1800) they all think Wings are a Million Bucks.  I say Horse Hockey.

If your budget allows, get a wing to make momma happy and you wont regret it.

You can get new ones for 17k ( you wont get all the options but you ride a Valk you are use to not all the options)

My buddy bought his 2003 for 12 k with 40k miles
I bought an 2006 premium sound for 13k and I added the 800 warranty included in that price, I had under 20 k

I got the better deal but point being now you could get a trade in '06 prolly for 11k -12k
It is Fuel injected and they will go 300k easy. You could even go older find a low miles one maybe 40 k I bet get it for 10k or less.

When compare my Valk @ 5kmiles  paid 7k   it is easy to swallow the price of the wing

Ok Lecture is over sorry ...

We talked about that but all I got was the  tickedoff  "You don't need two bikes" lecture.  2funny Just can't let go of the fat lady, she's just getting broken in with over 83,000 miles on her so I bought the new shocks instead.
