if I hadn't just paid mine off a few days ago....I can only ride one bike at a time, so that's all I want....this one appears to be the Burgandy/Black color......I saw it on the Stone Mountain, GA SCRC site on the Delphi forums....

"This valk is rare black over red. Has mustang seat with custom drivers backrest, passenger arm rest and highwaypegs. It has am/fm intercom. It has Mark T exhaust with 14" glass paks with 3" truck stacks. This bike has lots of chrome. Bike has 49,000 miles and is garage kept. I am asking $6800. You can contact me at valkrider@windstream.net or 770-855-8222 Thanks Russell"

That's the best looking colors on an Interstate, never seen one except in pictures. Why are folks selling these so cheap???

What an opportunity..... you just paid yours off so you now have some expendable funds (again) to get another bike.   Yea, you can only ride one at a time, but you would have a great spare bike.       cooldude

Nice bike, and I think the reason it's soo reasonable (not cheap) is possibly due to the mileage.

I just emailed him.
I was looking at a I/S down here in Tampa, actually Orlando.
I made an offer, the guy accepted, the called me and told me he had it appraised and that the asking price was good.
Translation: His S/O saw me ride it around the block a few times and saw herself on the back with her man.
I understand...I don't think his heart was really in it.
I can have one for each foot!! Smiley

I can barely afford to keep ONE bike up....let alone two....and I've had multiple vehicles, trucks, cars, and bikes and it GAULS me to see something sitting in the yard not getting driven/ridden....and even more so when you're coming off the hip for insurance, tags, etc....etc...it never fails that something gets neglected when you end up favoring one ride over another.....I'm just a lowly County Govt. worker....but if I got paid the Federal bucks like you Joe, it might not be so painful.....I bet your $$ has $$??!!... cooldude

That burgandy/black and the gold/black Interstates are the other two favorite colors of mine...as far as the mileage?...I wouldn't hesitate because of that...at least it's been ridden some...someone posted that they'd bought a low-mileage IS and had to have some gaskets replaced on the engine(for BIG $$$)....that'd suck....

I'm going to use my "new" found $$ to pay off a CC of mine twice as fast, hopefully.....after I buy a couple of things I need(new helmet).....

what a pretty bike. I don't understand why it was listed so inexpensively but someone was getting a good deal.  I've noticed lately that some people are dumping their valks at a cheaper price than what they are actually worth,(like alot of 1500 wing owners)  I guess they want something out of it while there is still interest. Undecided

Just talked to him and a deposit has been placed on it. Never fails, I had to drive 1350 miles (round trip) to get mine three weeks ago and this one appears and it is literally next door to me,like 10-15 minutes away and 2000 dollars cheaper and 2 years newer. Oh well, some things never change. I think my avatar will include the famous saying from Hee-Haw" If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck atall, gloom, despair and agony for me" . Had a friend that gave my 99 IS a spin yesterday, and we might have a convert , I was keeping my eyes open for him an IS.

you'r very lucky Bros because in France the same IS is about 16000€
it's very expensive for us  in $ it's about 20 000
can you imagine 6800$ , it's a very very good deal
look at this link
http://www.alliancemotocycle.com/index.php
clic on motos d'occasions and after in front of :marques , find Honda
look at the fifth place a Valk standard for 12 000€ about 17 000$
that gives you an idea about the prices in France and how much expensive our country is  Embarrassed Embarrassed

I just picked up an identical bike about 3 weeks ago.  Well - almost identical.  It's got different exhaust and a Corbin seat.  Also, it doesn't say "Interstate" on the side of the saddlebags.  It has 47K on it.

I can't say about elsewhere, but here in Gator country the bike market is just like the house market - swamped (pardon the pun).  Apparently everybody started offloading their bikes when the economy went south.  It's definitely a buyer's market.

Book value means nothing anymore.  I've seen people with serious $$$ in aftermarket stuff done to their bikes asking two and three thousand below retail and still can't sell.  It's crazy.
