I've never had the twist grip apart (never taken off the throttle endcap), but anybody know is there a way for screws to go in the end to mount this thing?  I thought at first it was just compatible with the 1800, but the website says it will fit on the 1500 also.  Thanks.

Don't know if it will mount on a OEM 1500 Valk grips, but those screws look like the Karyakan type set up

Thanks, I was thinking that maybe it needs some sort of adapter, and maybe somebody has tried a kuriakyn throttle boss like this knockoff.  By the way I've been using the cramp Buster, which I got off of my previous bike, and it works pretty good, but I would like something more permanent.

I have that boss by Kuryakyn on both sides of my standard.  Had the smaller ISO one and then switched over to that one four or five years ago.  I definitely like that one better than the old small one.  But.... i do have the Kury iso grips too.  Not sure about stock grips.  So.... I guess I didn't answer your question at all.   uglystupid2

Kuryakyn knockoff throttle boss (not lock).  But designed to go in the ends of Kuryakyn Iso Grips which come with four screw end caps (so this can just be added ahead of the caps).

I tossed my Honda grips the first week I got the bike.  But if you can screw off your Honda grip endcap, you can probably figure out if it could be mounted.

Problem I see is the kury grips are threaded for the screws, the honda caps are not and probably cannot be threaded, so you'd have to use little nuts on the inside, and maybe trim the screw length.  And even if that worked, you have an unfinished end with the grooves and screw heads showing (without the Kury end caps to finish the look)

While they do not look as nice, there are several rubber/plastic throttle bosses that will just slip fit over the end of the honda throttle grip.  Use on trips, store in bags for day rides. (just like your cramp buster)

Yep, need Kuryakyn like grips to make that work...put that one you linked on my Dads IS...seems like it almost feels better than the actual Kuryakyn one I have on my IS.

Might try a Crampbuster.  Simple, rock solid, and inexpensive.  Just rest the heel of your hand on the Crampbuster sail along in the summer (or winter) breeze . . .

Yep, been using one of these style rest for over 10 years, 2 seconds to put on or take off, 2 seconds to adjust position.

One of my bikes came with the Kuryakin grips with their "Throttle Boss" and I still put one of those on cause it works better.

Okay, thanks. I guess I'll just keep going with the cramp Buster since I have stock grips.  If I ever do get kuryakyns in the future, then I'll buy one of these.

If you really want to go with it, spend another $15.00 on a set of the Chinese  Kuryakyn knockoff ISO grips. It will definitely work with them. I saw a set at a swap meet & bought them for five bucks. The quality seems equal to the Kuri.
