So i put a new triple tree on the valk i tightened the top lock tight and then untight tight untight and then torqued to book how should i finish tightening and make sure the wheel is aligned straight before torquing the pinch bolts uppper and lower plus the top steering nut.
Trying to explain the best i can hope ya'll understand.

According to the Honda manual, you torque the bearing adjustment nut to 40 N-m then move the stem left and right 5 times.  Then loosen the nut and retighten to 17 N-m for standard or tourer or 13 N-m for interstate. Do the right to left 5 times again, then retorque.

Install the lock washer and bend 2 tabs down.  Install lock nut finger tight, then 90 degrees and bend tabs up.

Install top bridge and washer. Install forks and torque pinch bolts, then install and torque stem nut to 100 N-m for c/ct or 103 N-m for cf.

It's pretty fool proof if you follow the procedure.  Everything should line up right, just make sure both forks are at the same height.

I  did mine just as hook described and it feels great.Losing the indented races feels like a brand new bike.

A tapered bearing needs to crawl into position. If you do not do the double torque , the bearings will be loose. When I was working on heavy trucks , we had a set procedure to follow on torquing wheel bearings that was proven to be right.

I have never liked the idea to use the bearings themselves when attempting to get the races thoroughly seated. It seems to me to be a possibility to index the races in the process.  I much prefer to use my large c-clamp and a couple of sockets to squeeze the races in. This was what I've done on my other bikes, never on my Valkyrie, since there has been no need to mess with the steering head bearings on the Valkyrie.

I did it only on a Valk that was being triked.  Used the triple tree set from VTX-treme, very nice product.  The owner instructed me to set the races with the bearings, but I agree, using a c-clamp with sockets does sound smarter.
